(Special) Title of the special section Boxed, shaded section about interesting gaming stuff if any: Paragraph A. See writeups who have such sections for examples of "interesting gaming stuff" - complex Powers, interesting Trick Powers or unusual usage of a Power or Skill, describing an unusual Subskill or unique Schtick, Pets, Sidekick, complicated bits of equipment, Previous Statistics (a common one), etc. Extra credit for having the title of that section be the title of a song, or a quote.
Paragraph B. Note the
marking the paragraph breaks. Note that you can pile as many boxed, shaded sections as needed for maximum clarity and reader's comfort.
Paragraph C. Note that (Special) summons a boxed, shaded section, not a pale green banner like the other stuff in parentheses. (Special) The title of the special section, yes ? These here is an example of a Pet or Sidekick -- any ancillary thing you want to a stats block for, really. Just call for a boxed, shaded section and put a stats block into it : Name of pet, sidekick, etc. A XXX points Character (only for those who want to calculate this ; if not just skip) Dex: 01 Str: 10 Bod: 01 Motivation: Motivation (note how attributes always have two digits) Int: 10 Wil: 01 Min: 10 Occupation: Occupation (note *exact* name of attributes) Inf: 01 Aur: 10 Spi: 01 Wealth: 001 (note how Wealth, Init, HPs always have 3 digits) Init: 012 HP: 100 Powers: Power A: 01, Linked power B*: 01, Mystic-linked power C (ML): 01, Mystic-linked and linked power D (ML)*: 10 (If no Powers whatsoever, skip entirely. (Powers) Paragraph A of the Powers and Abilities section. As explained above, the keyword in parentheses summons the corresponding pale green banner.
Paragraph B. Generally, in the not-stats sections, try to keep your paragraphs short and to the point. Very long paragraphs are evil. Keep your sentences short and do not abuse multi-parts sentences. Do not use too many adjectives and passive tenses. (History) Paragraph A.
Paragraph B. Below is an example of a subsection title - the larger, green titles used to break up walls of text. This is the only case where you're requested to type in some actual code :
Subsection title to break up a wall of text
Paragraph C. Got it ? You can use these sub-section headings wherever you want to keep things readable and organised within a section - every five or six paragraphs is a common approach. Sub-sections are very good for the reader when sections start getting long.
As discussed on-list and in the FAQ, don't feel that you *have* to make something super-detailed that goes on for pages and pages. An honest, solid effort is fine even if it doesn't go deeply into details. And if you can't chronicle some bits because you miss the relevant issues, ask on-list, somebody will likely be able to help. (Description) Paragraph A.
Paragraph B. As a random note, remember you don't have to post your writeup right away -- letting it rest two or three days before posting as you get new ideas, tweak little details, realise mistakes, etc. is often valuable. (Personality) Paragraph A.
Paragraph B. Remember, the information in the Personality section is one of the more unique and distinctive things about WORG (and interests even non-roleplayers), so it's worth it to fine-tune and detail it. (DCU History) Paragraph A of the DC Universe History section.
Paragraph B. If nothing is applicable, you don't want to write one up or character is from the DCU proper, skip section entirely. (MU History) Paragraph A of the Marvel Universe History section.
Paragraph B. If nothing is applicable, you don't want to write one up or character is from the MU proper, skip section entirely. (MiscU History) Paragraph A of history/use notes in other universes and/or personal campaigns.
Paragraph B. If nothing is applicable (as in the vast majority of cases), skip section entirely. (New Rules) Paragraph A. Generally speaking, new rules material is best kept in the central files, but notes, reminders, brief versions, etc. can be welcome.
Paragraph B. If no discussion of new rules stuff is needed, skip section entirely. Writeup completed on the 18th of October, 2009 (and yes, you have to change the date).
