Early Angel of the X-Men (Marvel Comics)

Angel

(Warren Worthington III) (Profile #1 - Early)

Power Level:
Game system: DC Heroes Role-Playing Game

Context

The Angel (Warren Worthington III) was one of the original X-Men who appeared in 1963. He went on to have a storied career spanning decades. Though he remained primarily associated with the X-Men, he had a wide span of activities (so to speak).

This old profile is primarily concerned with a game stats estimate for Angel as he appeared during the early 1960s. It is not even a gisted profile, and will have to be reworked to more modern standards.

Background

  • Real Name: Warren Kenneth Worthington III.
  • Marital Status: Single.
  • Known Relatives: Warren K. (grandfather, deceased), Warren K. Jr. (father), Kathryn (mother), Burtram (uncle, deceased, aka Burt, aka the Dazzler).
  • Group Affiliation: X-Men.
  • Base Of Operations: Xavier’s school for gifted youngsters, New York state.
  • Height: 5’10” Weight: 130 lbs.
  • Eyes: Blue Hair: Blond

Powers & Abilities

Angel can, well, fly by flapping his wings. Also, his entire anatomy is enhanced to deal with flying. This is most apparent in his eagle-like sight and how his hollow bones can endure falls and collisions.

History

See the Angel (classic) writeup. Note that, at this point of his history, his parents are still alive.

Description

As a civilian, the Angel dresses like a rich, young snob (expensive white suits and the like).

Personality

A this point, Warren Kenneth Worthington III is pretty much a rich brat. He acts like a damn snob, a kid who’s accustomed to having a nice sports car, the best-looking girls and the best entertainment. In particular, he has difficulties accepting Cyclops giving him orders, and wants to date Jean (causing deep teenage angst for Scott).

However, he’s a genuine do-gooder, and the most experienced of the bunch – making him reasonable competent and effective. He’s also already a decent team player, although the group is still quite a chaotic bunch.
