Captain Brenten | Captain Britain from the Dominion manga

Captain Brenten

aka Captain Britain

Power Level:
Game system: DC Heroes Role-Playing Game
  • This character is called Brenten in the original manga and Britain in the OAV. I took the first because it’s the original Shirow’s idea (derived from the Bren Ten 10 mm handgun) and as Cpt Britain is © by Marvel I avoid the confusion.

  • Real Name: Charles Brenten
  • Marital Status: Married
  • Known Relatives: Sumaiza (Wife), Brady (Brother), Parents
  • Group Affiliation: Newport City’s Tank Police
  • Base Of Operations: Tank Police’s HQ, Newport City
  • Height: 6’ Weight: 200 lbs
  • Eyes: Black Hair: Black

Powers and Abilities

Brenten is the field commander of Newport City’s Tank Police Squad. As such, he’s well trained in the use of weapons and tanks. He’s an expert in guns and ammo (he has a permanent subscription to the “How To Kill” magazine).

He also has a fine palate, enabling him to recognize many substance by taste alone (like tasting an unknown liquid and recognizing it’s urine by the high urea rate).

How he got appointed as Tank Police’s field commander is not revealed. How he stayed in place after all the wanton destruction his squad is responsible for is a mystery. From the look of things, we can hardly say he’s efficient at his job. He deploys huge firepower, does cataclysmic collateral damages, but never manage to put his hands on Buaku’s gang, only catching petty players in his war against crime.

During his first encounter with Buaku’s gang, Leona ruined his tank by firing its main gun. The ordnance must have seriously outrated the tank payload has it threw the armored vehicle upside down after the first shot. He held Leona responsible for the lost of his beloved tank and sermonized her for not having the fiber that makes a good Tank Police officer : the love for his tank. From the resulting scrap, Leona built Bonaparte, to show Brenten she had the right stuff.

At first regarding the girl and her toy tank with contempt, he was forced to admit her efficiency several times when she saved the day and displayed stubborn resolution in her way of fighting crime.

Time and time again, Brenten had to face the wrath of the police Chief and the Mayor (who hurts Brenten macho feelings by virtue of being a woman), when they both had to deal with the piles of citizens complaints about Tank Police destructive behavior. But he’s not the paperwork type and just shot his handgun at the damn paper pile.

He is a tall, broad shouldered, big mouthed guy. He always wears sunglasses and smokes an everlasting cigar. He has a thick black mustache. He wears the standard issue’s tank police field uniform with the set of armor vest, which includes the so important mask filtering the bacteria cloud when out of his tank.

He uses a Magnum .44, as side weapon, he keeps in a shoulder holster over his uniform.

He’s a very bad tempered macho, a fervent user of rough language. He is not so fond of enforcing police’s procedures and regulations, considering his squad above the law. He will never blame himself or a subordinate for breaking the law, doing massive collateral damages, using heavy firepower… as long as the result was worth the expense.

He is at war with crime. He is known to have encouraged tough interrogation sessions.

But most of all, he places the Tank Police’s honor above anything else, considering all other police divisions as minor leagues (when arriving at a scene where the regular SWAT are operating, he will stop his squad some distance away just to enjoy how they ridicule themselves). But when Tank Police’s image is in play, he will even go chasing the villains on foot if the need be.

His best pleasure in the job is the use of heavy firepower and tanks. He encourage his men to cherish their tank. He himself was very found of his beloved Tiger Special tank. The one that Leona ruined and built Bonaparte from, pissing him in the process.

“They send us a girl ???” (falling from his chair)

“Who talks about torture, it’s INTERROGATION.”

“If this had been a serious comic, you’d have been dead as a can of tuna.”

DC Universe History

The Tank Police is a bit extreme, but you may try a variant : a special group of Russian police officers of various heritages with old Rocket Red battlesuits, who was formed after the Russian maffia started use military-grade hardware a bit too often.

They would easily use the same amount of attitude as the Tank Police does, and would be better equipped to fight supers.
