We still have a few notes about early Cyberforce material, dating back to the previous century. This is one of ’em.

Powers and Abilities

Cyblade can create energy blades around her fists. These look more or less like Psylocke’s psi-dagger. These can be used as powerful close combat weapons, or thrown.

She’s also an uber-competent martial artist, commando and ninja.

History

Dominique Thiebault is the daughter of the French viguier (governor) in Andorra. Her mother died when she was three.

Her mutant power emerged early, and allowed her to escape an abduction attempt. She was, however, traumatised by this attack – and having unwillingly killed one of the agressors. Thus, she remained a shut-in for years.

We’ll make a woman out of ya

Her father hired a female sensei called Jocelyne Harness. The job was to help Dominique get out of her shell. The training program was extremely tough, both physically and spiritually. It turned Dominique into a little clone of her mentor – efficient, lonely and ruthless.

Patrick Thiebault then died in a strange manner, shortly after having a fight with Harness. It was found that he had willed all his goods to the instructor. Harness lied to young Dominique, telling her that her father’s death had been caused by another terrorist attack like the one that had wrecked her childhood.

Dominique thus became a merc. She accompanied Harness in the field, originally using a pair of katars as a focus for her power. She especially enjoyed anti-terrorist missions, feeling she was striking back against those who had killed her father.

Despite all the fighting, Dominique still had a normal life on the side. Between her natural intelligence and the money and discipline that Harness had given her, everything was easy. She studied medicine at the Sorbonne , then worked for humanitarian associations.

State of SHOC

Thiebault was later forced to become a Cyberdata SHOC – a sort of soulless cyborg commando, with her free will suppressed by specialised chips. Months later, a renegade Cyberdata researcher broke her conditioning and that of a handful of other SHOC. He fled Cyberdata’s corporate installations along with the newly-freed SHOC.

This small gang became known as Cyberforce. They dedicated itself to battling Cyberdata and other evils, in an attempt to make up for the horrors they had perpetrated as SHOCs.

Cyblade eventually became Cyberforce’s leader.

Description

Cyblade is extremely attractive, with unbelievably blue eyes, long black hair and an impossibly lithe, supple and toned body. She wears some sort of metallic, skintight body armor which does not cover her arms, face or head. In her civvies, she dresses in a classy and sexy way.

Personality

Cyblade is tough, deadly, classy, fierce, all these things. She generally comes across as a smart young woman trying to do the right thing.

DC Universe History

Replace Cyberdata with Lexcorp, and here you go ! The SHOC become variations on the Team Luthor theme, and the Kraken (for those of you who read Cyberforce) would have been a master weapon intended against Superman.

The Cyberdata mess in the last few months of 1996 would be replaced by the seeming death of Luthor and the appearance of Luthor II. So you’ll have to position Cyberforce in the early 1990s.
