Powers and Abilities

Svetlana X is superhumanly fast, strong and tough, and a master hand-to-hand combatant - on the level of Tom Strong himself, if not greater. She greatly enjoys danger, and seems devoid of fear.

Svetlana usually subs her Martial Arts for her EV, making her hit extremely hard. She's not a science hero herself, although she find Strong's technology fun and useful.

History:

Very little has been revealed as to Svetlana X's background. All we know is that she's Tom Strong's "opposite number in Russia". They've had numerous encounters ; while it can be assumed the earlier ones were hostile, they have been on good terms for the last fifteen years or so.

In the real world, Stalin's only daughter was actually named Svetlana, so this character might indeed be a parallel version of Svetlana Iosifovna Alliluyeva, whom Stalin had with his second wife Nadezhda Alliluyeva in 1926. That would certainly make for an interesting origin, and explain why she is known as just "Svetlana X".

Svetlana X has notably helped Tom Strong defeat the invasion of the cyber-ant slavers from outer space.

Personality

Svetlana is very direct and very lively, with a straightforward, powerful personality. She greatly enjoys sex and adventure, among other things, and it is quite obvious from her remarks and very frank conversation. Although she is involved with a man called Dimitri, she has often loudly commented on Tom Strong's fabulous butt.

Svetlana's mastery of English is quite good, except she never manages to get colloquialisms right, as indicated in her quotes. As long as the expression conveys a sufficiently strong feeling, she doesn't really care. And her ability to use the wrong synonym in all of her would-be-American phrases is pretty much her verbal signature by now.

Her general outlook and a comment from Tom make it likely she believes in the ways of the romanticized version of the Cossacks - live free, live fast, have no fear, enjoy yourself, don't bother with society's choking rules more than necessary, and help your band no matter what. Which would be rather ironic if she's indeed related to Stalin.

Description:

Svetlana is really tall. Her features are fairly ordinary, but her raw vitality creates her sex appeal. It is possible that her appearance was loosely based on New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless during the Xena years.

DC Universe History:

In the DCU, Svetlana X would of course be Stalnoivolk's daughter, conceived in 1953 just before his exile. Though Stalnoivolk is unaware that he has a daughter, she was raised and trained in secret by the KGB. Svetlana X often fought a splinter branch of the Kobra organisation, virulently opposed to the USSR and manipulated by MI6.
