Tagak the Leopard Lord (Daredevil character) (Marvel Comics) appears in a mirror

Tagak the Leopard Lord

Power Level:
Game system: DC Heroes Role-Playing Game
  • Tagak never amounted to anything in comics, but he comes across as some eight-years-old boy concept for a cool super-hero, and there’s charm in that.

Background

  • Real Name: Unrevealed
  • Marital Status: Unrevealed
  • Known Relatives: None
  • Group Affiliation: None known
  • Base Of Operations: Another dimension
  • Height: 5’11” Weight: 165 lbs
  • Eyes: Green Hair: Orange

Powers and Abilities

On paper, Tagak enjoys cat-like power, agility and speed. In practise, he was easily floored by Daredevil and both he and his pet could be hit by gunfire from ordinary NPCs.

The Leopard Lord is blind, but can see through the eyes of his companion – a huge leopard named Opar. The beast is well-trained, but it has its limits and can get attack-happy. Presumably, Opar was replaced by a similar leopard after its death.

History

Tagak comes from an unnamed dimension. Although the locals somehow speak English, the geography seems entirely made of crystal and their society and environment is governed by alien rules.

This dimension was visited by a thief named Quothar, who absconded with a sacred statue. A form of local leadership (possibly called the Seven, although it might be the name of their religion) made Tagak and his brother-in-sight Opar responsible for recovering the artifact.

Tagak tracked Quothar to Earth-616, crossing over through a strange mirror. The Leopard Lord caused quite a stir due to his strange appearance and behaviour ; meanwhile Quothar was busy robbing a New York City museum. Daredevil and Tagak had a short fight as the crimson-clad acrobat thought that Opar was attacking a policeman, but they soon joined forces.

However, as they intercepted Quothar, Tagak fell into an ambush organised by the museum’s director – who though that the Leopard Lord was the culprit. Opar was apparently killed by gunfire, blinding his master. Tagak himself suffered a concussion from being grazed by a bullet. Thankfully Daredevil took Quothar down, and helped the blind Tagak return to his world.

Tagak the Leopard Lord was, quite improbably, one of the applicants during the “Defenders for a day” debacle. This absurd, over-the-top comedy story is, for most featured characters, best ignored for continuity purposes.

Tagak does the noble savage / exotic prince thing.
