Let’s get another batch in, since I’m always concerned that work on features and illustration will create a backlog for content. Roll call :

  • DC ADVENTURES (M&M 3rd). The new equivalency system to turn DCH writeups into DCA writeups – OMACS II – is now online after some testing and discussion.
  • DOCTOR BANNERS. The missing banner for Shrike, Mister Fish I‘s henchman, has been restored. I’m sure you were waiting for that with bated breath. Or maybe baited breath, in this case.
  • RONNIETHUNDERBOLTS ART. Writeups.org has some fan art, chiefly for home-brewed characters (such as Pufnstuff’s art or William’s 3D models) and for the fighting games characters (from DeviantART postings). From time to time we use fan art for other entries, though – mostly when it is genuinely good at illustrating the character and is quick to add. This has been the case for excerpts from Mike Foust’s portfolio, and we’ll now use some of the art of RonnieThunderbolts.

This art is largely in a 2000′s US animated movie style, but is chiefly remarkable because the costumes are depicted in a very clear and polished way, which is exactly what we need to illustrate writeups. In some case, those are the clearest depiction of the character you’re likely to find anywhere. Before this batch, RonnieThunderbolts art has already been used for Mongoose, Quicksand and the Hood.

    In this batch:
  • OTHER ART. As follow:
  • The entry for Bengal had been updated to cover his Initiatives appearances in terms of history, characterisation, relatives, etc. Some new art has also been added, drawn from these books. A surprising amount of information has also been added in general. And then some of the revisions were revised.
  • Duncan Rosenblatt, the protagonist of Firebreather (published by Image Comics), sees his orange self described by Bryan.
  • THUNDERBOLTS. Another Thunderbolts-related entry by Gareth. This time around it’s the current Cyclone – this series of very minor Marvel villains has good coverage on WORG.
  • AUTHORITY. Two Authority entries from Peter this time, since of course many people want entries about these famous characters. Or rather, a couple of entries :
    • Apollo, the sun god and sort-of Superman analogue
    • Midnighter, the fighter of the night and sort-of Batman analogue. Midnighter is a v2 and should have been published weeks ago, but the Worgmeister kinda screwed up.
  • THE OTHER V2 OF THE BATCH IS…. Tiger Shark (Classic), replacing the horrible thing that has been there for far too long. Fully re-researched, re-illustrated, rewritten and all these sorts of things.
  • SCHTICKS SCHTREAMLINING. The remaining mentions of outdated Schticks have been fiksched. Furthermore, the conversation about Stance Assessment has led to minor added material for Levy and Jubei, and to Kyle Travers and Rolento Sugerg‘s mercenaries losing theirs.
  • Very minor things – fixed a quotes layout issue for Jaws, removed a mistake in the Danny Torrance entry, fixed a HPs total typo (and a missing bonus) in the more recent Kitty Pryde entry.
  • Mechamage is a minor but interesting Fantastic Four character, who gets an entry courtesy of Gareth.
  • STREET FIGHTERS. This batch happens to have profiles by Tom for the three classic Street Fighters antagonists :
    • Balrog (which you probably know as Vega)
    • Gouki (which you probably know as Akuma)
    • Vega (which you probably know as M. Bison. This is so annoying.)
  • DYNAMO FIVE. Continuing to post Bryan’s D5 profiles one at a time, we reach Visionary.
  • The entry for Man-Eater has been improved, and upgraded, and checked against his recent OHOTMU profile (for exact name, height, etc.) and received additional art from the aforementioned OHOTMU entry.
  • REVIEWS AND EDITS. The usual reviews for typos, clarity, style and these sorts of things.

And that’s 4443 entries. I got burned out on Photoshop work midway through, but hopefully that won’t stick.
