• STEPHANIE BROWN. As some of you had deduced from the line above, one of the main entries in this batch is our extensive profile for Stephanie Brown as Batgirl. It’s only the end if you want it to be.
• THE MIGHTY. Bryan carved a writeup into granite with his heat vision – namely Alpha One, the Superman parallel in The Mighty. Because Roy can’t write every single Superman analogue ever.
• REWORK AND V2s. The following entries have been improved and reworked… or even completely redone.
  • Geoffrey Ballard aka Centurion II
  • “Snake” Marston has been almost completely redone (texts, stats, illos) and is now a v2
  • Puck I (bits of polish)
  • Puck II (a bucketful of polish, eh ?)
  • Pagan (Marian Mercer) has been v2ed – wholly new texts and art, stats more or less untouched since they were OK
  • Gimmix (texts entirely redone)
  • Whip (Shelly Gaynor) (ditto)
  • Kurt Hectic (from the ancient MDK video game, everything redone and now a v2)
  • Brood. The big, detailed article on sleazoid has seen another round of edits to rework the parts written in a subpar style. Couldn’t find the time to update it, though, except for a key bit from S.H.I.E.L.D..
• CHEETAH. This batch includes a profile of Deborah Domaine, which concludes our coverage of the pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths versions of the Cheetah. Post-Crisis versions are not currently scheduled – maybe next year.
• CRIME DOCTOR. This batch has the 1940s original version of the character, by Bob Kane himself. The character, not the writeups.org profile.
• ALIEN ANIMALS FILE. Part two of Chris’s work about vintage Legion of Super-Heroes space monsters. If you thought that part one was high camp weirdness, well it gets even better in part two.
• CLAW THE UNCONQUERED. I’m just grabbing whatever looks publishable to contain the backlog, which ends up meaning two Claws the Unconquered entries in one batch. These may in fact be the last two, I ain’t sure – I only write them.

• KILLER FROST. The second writeup in this series is the first of two entries for Dr. Louise Lincoln as the second Killer Frost. It goes from the beginning to Underworld Unleashed.
• SUPREME POWER. Peter continues to amble in this revised continuity for the classic story. In this batch, the modern version of Nighthawk.
• YOUNG JUSTICE. Another bit of Superman-ness from Bryan – the cartoon version of Superboy.
• ARTGERM ART. Our Batgirl entry in this batch uses an illustration done by Hong Kong artist Stanley “Artgerm” Lau for DC Comics. We’ll throw in a few more examples in the entries listed below ; his gallery can be found on Deviantart under the handle Artgerm..

  • Mai Shiranui (half the illustrations redone because I hate joy)
  • Cammy (Alternate take) (cleared the deadwood as with Mai)
  • Furthermore, Artgerm was the cover artist for Great Ten, and using the full versions of his covers from his own gallery is a big gain over scanning the printed covers. Which means cool improvements in the following entries :

Just a straightforward set of easily-published entries to catch up with the backlog. While it may be quick, it’s also rather cool. Roll call :

• ACTOR CREDIT. The “played by” mention in the titles for live action movie characters had started to fall by the wayside, so a number of recent and semi-recent entries have been properly re-titled. That way it’s easy to look by actor name rather than by character name.
• MISSION X SUICIDE SQUAD. This specific arc is finished with a revised pre-Crisis Rick Flag entry, and a prefatory paragraph added to the other, very old set of post-Crisis notes to avoid confusion. There’ll be even more later.
• ANIMALS FILE. Ethan added stats for meerkats to the big article because heh, everybody likes meerkats.
• YOUNG JUSTICE. This batch starts Bryan’s work about the best-known version of Young Justice – the one on TV. We’ll start with two articles for the price of one :
  • The “base camp” entry for Young Justice the other entries can refer to to avoid repeating stuff
  • The entry for Aqualad
• SUICIDE SQUAD. Jeez, just kidding ! Okay, seriously – SECRET SIX. We continue rolling out Gareth’s work, and this one has Black Alice.
• EVERQUEST. Another player character profile, which illustrates the world after the Shattering — the second Gitane.
• KILLER FROST. Here we begin a series of three profiles covering both users of the name in the DC Universe. In this batch, a full profile of the pre-Crisis, original Killer Frost — Dr. Crystal Frost. Heed the frozen dead !
• We don’t have a ton of Green Lantern material, but Peter willed a profile of a very powerful GL character, Lord Malvolio.
• POLISH. The following entries have had some rework for quality :
  • Corporal Jackson
  • Hammer Harrison (a v2, really)
• NEW BLOOD. Another profile for these very minor characters – in this batch, Mongrel.
• CLAW THE UNCONQUERED. Another minor character to beef up our heroic fantasy roster – Thanador, stock barbarian warrior and now evil demonologist with RuneQuest tattoos.
• CHARACTER WEIGHTS ARTICLE. For no special reason we’ve thrown in an article that explains how much super-heroes and heroines would realistically weight since the official values are usually too low.

And thus we have 4,677 entries.

We’ve been delayed by 15+ days by a burnout – this batch is huge, the August batch was huger still, the July batches were rather large and all of this resulted in overwork. Anyway, we’re tentatively back on the road. Roll call :

• DCH NEW RULES FILE. The New Rules pages for Bonuses and Limitations are now up on WORG. The current plan is to convert the items in the list rules document first and then catch up with the new material that has appeared in the list since then, though we have been including some newer material already when convenient.
  
  More specifically, the next page will cover new and modified Skills. After that will be Powers, though that will be a multi-stage process given the amount of formatting involved. The initial batch of Powers will cover a half-dozen of the more widely used ones, with others being added after that as time permits.

• Rationalising a few Advantages and Drawbacks has allowed to simplify the entries for the Dee Dee Twins, Val and Earl (Tremors) and Double Dragon since the Synergy Drawback and the Dream Team advantage no longer need to be explained in each of these entries.
• WONDER WOMAN. The big entry for this batch is a, errrrrr, extensive profile of Wonder Woman as she appeared under Gail Simone’s pen. It discusses a thing or two about her.
• V2s. Three entries got revised in time for this batch :
  • It’s minor, but the entry for the Mega-Flex super-strength cola (or soda, or pop, or whatever it is you say in your neck of woods) was completely rewritten (and is now dual-statted).
  • Minor Marvel anti-hero Tracer (Richard Bloom) was completely redone.
  • Not *quite* a v2, but Blok (Mister X’s bodyguard in the Marvel Universe) was rewritten, re-illustrated and updated
• STARCRAFT. Furthermore the old entries for the generic marine and the generic firebat from the first Starcraft game have been cleaned up a bit and have received all the art they needed.
• New art for Ethan’s Tarantula (1955 movie) writeup.
• NICOLA SCOTT ART. Beyond the art in the Wonder Woman entry, two shots from her convention sketches. Ms. Scott doesn’t seem to do a lot of those, but here very nice drawings for :

• CLAW THE UNCONQUERED. Slowly continuing to populate the world of Claw, here comes his ally Ghilkyn, Prince of the Thousands Hills.
• SECRET SIX. Gareth has polished the entries for Scandal Savage and Ragdoll, the new versions are now online. The Ragdoll entry also got extra art in passim.
• DOCTOR BANNERS. Thanks to Tom, the doctor who repairs the banners lost in a HD crash a long time ago is back. The following entries got their departed pictorial payload repaved :

• HOMINID’S EARTH-H. The largest of our campaign timelines has been extensively revised – there’s a lot more content and the layout is much more modern.
• The various writeups for Drax and Gamora have all been rewritten for clarity, style, concision, etc. Because they’re green. And WORG is green. It made sense at the time. List of rewritten/edited entries :

• SUICIDE SQUAD TOO. Our entries for the 1959-1961 version of the Suicide Squad were very old and very bad, so enough is enough and it’s time for a change. In this batch we get things done :
  • There’s now a very cool base article in our mighty modern manner, explaining the context, the history, the team’s equipment, the continuities, etc. etc. It’s what you have to read first. A new bit covering the 2007 Raise the Flag retcons has just been added, for those who had read the beta of the revision.
  • Dr. Hugh Evans‘s entry has been entirely redone now that most of the material is in the base camp entry
  • Jess/Jeff Bright‘s entry has been entirely redone and it now covers his return as Koshchei the Deathless
  • Dr. Karin Grace‘s entry has been entirely redone and now covers her 1980s appearance

• WEAPONRY. Angelina insisted, so we’ve added Cornershot gadgets to part 5 of our Modern Firearms article.
• The Governor from the popular The Walking Dead series, as written up by Ethan.
• ALIEN ANIMALS FILE. Part 2 of our space zoo article is delayed to the next batch (tentatively), but this leaves a slot to introduce the boss of the menagerie covered in part 1 — namely the Monster Master, tamer of the Legion of Super-Monsters.
