A quick and art-heavy batch. I’m not entirely sure about the status of the inset images (that is, where in the world and on which browser they show), but there is a good chance we might just leapfrog to the next version of the site and solve the issue.
Roll call:
- NEW ART. The high quality of the printing and paper of the hardback Marvel sourcebook allows to do excellent illustrations very quickly, so here is a wave of those. Buy the hardback A-Z Marvel Handbooks ! They’re really cool. New art (inset or column) for :
- Abomination
- Americop
- Amphibion
- Annihilus
- Arabian Knight I
- The three main BAD Girls
- Baron Zemo II
- Beyonder
- Big Wheel
- Black Knight (Dane Withman)
- Bullseye
- Bushwacker
- Captain Axis
- Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell)
- Carnage
- Carrion
- Cerise
- Cobra II
- Crossbones
- Cutthroat
- Cyber
- Diamondback I (Willis Stryker )
- Dracula (Marvel Universe)
- Diamond Lil
- Lester Girls is not a Marvel character, but his writeup (from the previous batch) is now illustrated (and may get a few more pictures later)
- Several Marvel characters have had the hardback OHOTMU illustration replacing the previous one – usually meaning it’s the same illustration but with more definition and more intense colour.
- Cauldron is a very minor Marvel villain with cool visuals. Handy for GMs.
- To complement our old Remo the Destroyer writeup, here comes fellow secret agent Conrad McLeary, by Peter.
- REWRITES. This batch’s rewrite is a complete overhaul of Amazing Grace, the subtle manipulator of Darkseid’s Elite.
- Another set of quite low-powered mercenaries who look like extras from GI Joe – those can be very handy in street-level scenarios and for beginning characters. This batch has the member of Cannibal Catch – Fastback, Folio, Hardhat and Transom.
- Helter Skelter is a villain based on Charles Manson, from an old campaign ran by Pufnstuff.
- Hammer and Sickle – the previous, NON-CONTINUITY version of those entries (chiefly based on my campaign notes) have been by popular demand (that is, one person) reintegrated as an annex to the current writeup.
- STRIKEBACK. This Malibu series is not very well-known, so most people will discover it through Gareth’s writeups. In this batch Rascal – and his scarf.
- We got more scarabs ! For instance, while they are not the best known Marvel characters, Chris wrote up two of the major Egyptian superhumans – the first and the second Scarlet Scarabs. They respectively fought the Invaders and Thor and more than held their own, you know.
- INFINITY INC. Another Scarab with Egyptian ties is Hector Hall – the Silver Scarab. This large rewrite of the official entry covers his whole career until his destruction by Dream of the Endless.
- And finally we have yet another Summers brother – Gabriel aka Vulcan, the powerful and insane mutant who came to rule over the Shi’Ar empire, written up by Gareth.
Current number of entries is 3787.
