As mentioned a few messages back, our readership is experiencing a sizeable surge in numbers, so some of the work has been redirected from new content to improving old content. Hence the numerous reviews/edits of old entries lately, and I’ve started ramping up the number of v2s. It would be a shame for a new reader to, out of bad luck, read three mediocre entries left nearly untouched since 1998 in a row, and decide that the whole site is pants.

Of course, even at a very determined pace, reviewing everything would take 5-6 years… there’s a *lot*of content.

This specific batch, though, is mostly all-new material. Roll call:

  • MUTANTS AND MASTERMIND 2nd EDITION. We’re happy to announce that the it’s-not-a-conversion-system developed in collaboration with the Atomic Think Tank and serving as a bridge between M&M 2nd edition and DCH is now on WORG (since the release of 3rd edition means that work on it will not resume). It’s our first bit of published M&M material on writeups.org, too ! Which means that the Game System filter in the search engine now has *two* choices ! Woo-hoo !
  • Antoine Sharpe aka the Atheist, from Desperado Comics, a highly gifted investigator and government top man
  • NEW ART. Prettifying up the site, specifically these entries :
  • Adam has published An extremely brief primer on Filipino Mythology, which in true role-playing fashion focuses on the monsters and creatures from those tales. It chiefly draws from Filipino mythology as presented in local comic books.
  • Peter covers more 2000AD material – this time James Blocker, the protagonist of Timequake
  • Speaking of which, there is now a “2000AD” tag in the Notes field for people looking for our collected material about the famous British magazine.
  • Vin the heroine from the Mistborn trilogy – high fantasy novels by Brandon Sanderson. Gareth covers her in detail, including of course material about allomancy.
  • STREET FIGHTERS. Two more entries from Tom’s SF arc :
    • Mike Bison (which you may know as Balrog due to the world’s most famous translation mistake)
    • Gen
  • DYNAMO 5. Continuing Bryan’s arc – in this batch Menagerie (formerly Slingshot)
  • Gareth presents the baddie from JMS’s controversial Spider-Man’s story arc – Morlun, the Devourer of Totems
  • INVINCIBLE. In this batch the stats for an average Viltrumite, plus some considerations about individual Viltrumites, by Bryan
  • TEXTUAL HEALING. Reviews and edits for these guys :
  • KING OF FIGHTERS. Another of Tom’s KoF entries – this time Shingo Yabuki.

Anyway… 4413 entries.
