Atlas (DC Heroes RPG)

Atlas

Context

This character is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.

Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event. This specific character was part of a RPG campaign run by writeups.org contributor Bil.

Powers and Abilities

Atlas is extremely long-lived. He is at least 40 years old, even though he only looks 25-30.

His greatest ability is the power to grow to over 150 feet tall, and over six hundred tons. In this form, his superhuman strength increases by 60,000 times. The end result is power rivaled only by the strongest of heroes and villains, and a terrifying destructive potential.

History

Atlas has been randomly appearing around the world for at least 15 years. He usually starts off by attempting some grand scheme, and ends up destroying a lot of property in a temper tantrum when it doesn’t work.

He is constantly attempting schemes to add to his power. Which either don’t work, or only work for a short while.

Recently, he was humbled in battle with Dragonking of the New Legion. Reading far more into it than he should have, he has begun brooding about whether he is Atlas, or the son of Atlas and Hercules. Whatever he decides, he probably isn’t going to change any.

Description

Normally, he is 6’4”, 225, but can grow to nearly 150‘ tall, and six hundred tons.

His hair is black, short, and slightly curly, while his eyes are grey.

He wears a tunic, breeches, boots, and a tabard when active as a criminal.

Personality

A complete loon, and an overdramatic one. However, he is extremely powerful, and should not be taken lightly.

He loves the typical villainous speech, and seriously believes he is the original Atlas. The latter statement was flatly rejected by Blacksmith, Dragonking, and Thaumaturge, three heroes who should know.

DC Universe History

Wonder Woman could come into conflict with him, and laugh at his delusions… or perhaps introduce him somehow to the REAL Atlas…
