Nancy Archer the 50ft Woman

Power Level:
Game system: DC Heroes Role-Playing Game

Context

Attack of the 50ft. woman is a 1958 monster mash, which became a minor cult movie. I suppose that giant women may be a thing in some quarters, given the popularity of our bigger Giganta character profile.

There also was a minor 1993 version, and the main character in the 2009 animated film Monsters vs. Aliens is a reference to the 50ft. woman. In fact it’s the later that inspired writing up the original.

Powers and Abilities

Before Nancy gained her gargantuan size, she was simply a young woman dealing with marital problems and a drinking problem.

History

A comet-like object was spotted in several areas around the globe. Over the California desert in the P.M., this object decended. The sphere landed on the road in front of a stalled vehicle. That car was driven by Mrs. Nancy Archer. A giant hand menacingly reached for her.

Meanwhile her Husband, Harry, was fooling around with a young girl, Honey Parker, in Tony’s roadside bar. Harry wished he’d never gone back to his wife after they’d separated. He also mentioned his wife’s psychiatric and drinking problems. But her doctor said she was getting better.

Just then Mrs. Archer came running up the road screaming for help. The police were there and two officers went with her to investigate. She told of a flying satellite and a 30 foot giant out on route 66. No one believed her though and instead thought she might be drunk. Her husband wanted nothing to do with his wife and paid off the deputy so he didn’t have to be involved.

Marital trouble

Mrs. Archer paid most of the taxes in the area, the Police had no problem playing along with her. Mrs. Archer elaborated that it all happened on the road, hence no footprints. She believed the giant wanted her “Star of India” diamond necklace. The officers felt sorry for her but felt more sorry for her husband if he was caught cheating.

Mrs. Archer is surprised to find her husband waiting at home. She confessed that she still loved him but he does not return her affection. She asked him not to make fun of her as she told about her experience with the satellite on the road. Mrs. Archer begged her husband to believe her.

He said “of course I do.” then put her to bed, giving her sleeping pills. She begged him not to leave her but he did just that. On top of that, Harry took her diamond necklace.

That same night, Harry met Honey again. She told him she was tired of waiting. She had Harry contact Dr. Cushing, Mrs. Archer’s former psychiatrist. The doctor visited Mrs. Archer at her home the next day. His diagnosis: She was suffering from mental exhaustion and her drinking wasn’t helping either.

Nancy decided the Giant must still be waiting on her out in the desert. To prove it to herself and Harry she goes driving to find the satellite. She said “If the giant driving the satellite isn’t there, then I’m crazy and need to be committed.”

It came from outer spaaaace, part 1

After searching all day. Nancy breaks down and says she is sorry. However, on the way home the satellite appears again. Nancy leaps from the car and runs toward the satellite, followed by Harry. The Giant steps out and grabs her. Harry unloads his six-shooter into the giant with no effect what-so-ever. Harry flees in the car with Nancy’s screams behind him.

Harry runs home, grabs his things and tries to leave. But Jess the Butler won’t allow it. They fights briefly before Harry escapes out the door, and the Butler calls the police. Feeling that he is sure to get the blame for Mrs. Archer’s death, Harry goes to Honey’s place to get her. They attempt to flee the law together, but the police picks them up almost immediately.

Mrs. Archer is found soon afterwards, on top of a pool house. She has scratches on her neck, and the doctor detects radiation being emitted from her body.

Honey coaxes Harry into giving Nancy an overdose. But when Harry returns to the house, Mrs. Archer has grown to colossal size. Howbeit, she’s still in a coma and the doctors need the husband’s permission to operate. So, Harry hides to let his wife die.

It came from outer spaaaace, part 2

The Chief and his deputy find footprints near the pool house. They wait till dark and follow the prints back to their origination point. The two policemen find the sphere sitting in the desert, as well as the discarded pistol Harry had used earlier.

Inside the satellite, the police realize it is powered by diamonds. They also find Mrs. Archer’s diamond.

The giant shows up and the officers flee, as shots from their pistol and shotgun have no effect. The Chief throws a grenade that makes the Giant flinch, without further effect. After the Giant destroys the police car, he walks back to the satellite and flies away in it.

Rampaging giantess

Meanwhile, Nancy awakens and screams for Harry. Harry did receive several messages about his wife’s condition, but he ignored them all. In the meanwhile, the doctors kept Nancy under sedation with morphine and chained her arms and legs.

But it isn’t long before she overcomes the morphine and breaks free. After wrapping herself in bedsheets she proceeds to rip the roof off her home to escape.

Enraged about Harry, the 50 foot woman stormed off after him and his adulterous cohort, Honey!

Description

Nancy Archer was always richly dressed, with hair done and makeup.

After she grew to giant size she was wrapped in bed sheets.

Personality

It seems Mrs. Archer was always having some type of drama going on. She was tormented over her decision to take back her two-timing husband but still she loved him. Her face was always gripped in some emotional state. The only time this wasn’t true was when she was sedated with sleeping pills.

Nancy was in turmoil because everyone publicly knew her business. Even the news would report on her love life.

As a giantess, she was nearly emotionless. Even when killing the ones she wanted revenge on. Her voice changed also, it was booming and had an echo.

Quotes

Nancy: “Now you listen to me Harry, I won’t stand for anymore of your two-timing ! You keep away from that girl in that hotel, you hear ! Your backdoor romances have split us up once already, next time there won’t be any reconciliation !”
Harry: “You know, you’re going to flip your lid one time too many with me, Nancy.”
Nancy: “And you’re going to make one too many passes at some other woman !…My… husband. Hmmph.”

Doctor Cushing: “I’ve known Nancy since she was born. Those days she was a beautiful child. Fresh, young, full of the joys of life. But in the last few years, after her marriage, she changed. Her health seemed to rise and fall with the tide of her emotions.”
Butler Jess: “A very sad case. A case not infrequent in this supersonic age we live in.”
Doctor Cushing: “I’m afraid I was unwise in advising her to take Harry back after they’d separated.”
Butler Jess: “Who knows, my friend.”
Doctor Cushing: “When women reach the age of maturity, mother nature sometimes overworks their frustrations to the point of irrationalism.”

“I know where my husband is ! He’s with that woman ! I’ll find him !”

“HAAARRRYYY… I want my HUSBAAAAND”.
