Baby Face Johnny
Context
During the 1970s, confectioner and cakes maker Hostess advertised in major comic books. The advertisements were full-page comics starring Marvel and DC Comics characters (and Hostess products).
These comics were nonsensical and a parody of the most absurd aspects of Silver Age comics. They’re still fondly remembered for their goofiness.

History
He appeared in “Daredevil’s Longest Fight”, which was in Avengers #216 among other places.
In a gymnasium, Baby Face Johnny, the biggest bruiser ever to hit Manhattan, has been duking it out with Daredevil for three hours straight.
DD exaggerates, “This guy’s nearly as strong as the Hulk ! But why’s he pickin’ on me ?”. Johnny tosses a huge barbell at Daredevil, who jumps out of the way, but laments, “I’m exhausted ! Fighting him is like fighting a cyclone !”
Using his billy-club, DD whips some Hostess™ Fruit pies over in Johnny’s direction, “He must have worked up an appetite by now !”. He has, indeed ! Johnny chows down, stopping to ask, “Hey, Daredevil, what were we fighting about, anyway ?”.
It seems DD had asked Johnny what he thought of Jack Murdock’s record – and Johnny thought that he said he smelled of dirty socks. Clean out yer ears, big guy !
The misunderstanding solved, Johnny apologizes, and DD replies, “Don’t mention it. I needed the workout. Sort of.”
Description
He’s got the cutest little baby face ! In addition to that, he’s a big, muscle-bound bruiser, with black trunks, a blue T-shirt with red trim on it, and blond hair that curls up on the sides like little wings. Awww !
Personality
He’s quick to anger, and not the brightest bulb on the tree. He also might be a little hard of hearing.
