Powers and Abilities

He’s skilled at strategic invisibility (hiding). He can shoot guns (although he prefers not to look when shooting things). That’s about it.

He does get lucky on occasion, though, flying a plane despite not having a clue how to do so, or accidentally taking down a venomised dinosaur.

History

Due to his wife’s nagging, Bob took a job with HYDRA (where his cousin Herm worked) for the dental plan. Unfortunately it turned out to be AIM which had the medical benefits, so he was stuck in the job, with little to do but blog about it.

When Deadpool attacked his HYDRA base to rescue Agent X, he took Bob hostage. He recognized the Hydra man from the blog Weasel had used for gathering intelligence. Deadpool, shrunk by Pym gas at the time, tortured Bob with a security card, and got him to take him where he wanted to go.

Recovering Agent X, Deadpool forced Bob to pilot the HYDRA craft they used to escape, even though he didn’t actually know how to fly it.

Deadpool kept Bob as part-hostage (after remembering he’d left Weasel back at the HYDRA base), and part-pet (or minion, as that’s more PC). Bob actually started to enjoy himself, looking up to Deadpool. He became a kinda member of Agency X.

Twisting by the Deadpool

When he heard that Wolverine was on his way to the HYDRA base to wipe it out, Deadpool dragged Bob along to rescue Weasel, for use in a hostage swap if it came to it. They found Weasel had talked himself into the role of section leader with his Penetraitor armour, but was unfortunately Wolverine’s primary target.

When Wolverine decapitated Deadpool, Bob had to run after the head through the ongoing battle and put it back on before Deadpool suffered (further) brain damage. Deadpool head eventually reattached. They made peace with Wolverine when Weasel’s plan was fulfilled and he teleported all the surviving HYDRA agents in the base into custody.

Before they could return home, a short-circuit in Penetraitor’s teleportation technology sent Deadpool and Bob back to World War II, where they helped Captain America and Bucky against Arnim Zola, despite Bob’s trained fear of Cap.

Returning to their own time, Deadpool took Bob on a journey through various dimensions when Dr. Strange hired them to restore T-Ray’s soul. They succeeded, Bob again managing to hide through most of the danger, before being sent into a nightmare trance by Brother Voodoo for Deadpool’s fight against T-Ray.

Deadpool had apparently tried ransoming Bob back to HYDRA at some point. They were unable to pay ransom in monthly instalments due to an accountancy issue, so he remained with Agency X.

Deadpool, Bob, and Weasel travelled to the Savage Land next, to recover an old device of Magneto’s. They ran into trouble with the Savage Land Mutates, but overcame them, and Deadpool teleported a stampede of dinosaurs to Genosha. Or intended to.

They actually went to the Genoshan embassy in New York, where they managed to release weaponized venom symbionts being transported through the city.

Returning to New York the trio helped the local heroes battle the venomised dinosaurs. Well Deadpool did, and Weasel worked with Mr. Fantastic to teleport them safely away, while Bob hid, ran around screaming like a girl, and got dragged along by a charging dinosaur before managing to disable it by a complete fluke.

He returned home for a while, but was soon recruited by Norman Osborn to betray Deadpool, and was too frightened to refuse. Turning up when Deadpool was facing Tiger Shark, he admitted his betrayal when confronted, also being afraid of Deadpool. Deadpool took down Tiger Shark, and they made up, after Wilson shot Bob in the hand, just because.

Soon after, Deadpool invited Bob to join him in a life of piracy, which Bob leapt at. He was less impressed when Deadpool gave him the parrot suit to wear, and disappointed when they got lost at sea for a few weeks and he thought he had scurvy. Finally reaching their target, they found another group of pirates there, and ended up fighting them.

Quickly getting over the pirate thing, Deadpool took off again, leaving Bob with a chest of gold to get him home.

Agent of A.I.M.

Learning that AIM were hiring, Bob managed to get a job with them, but it wasn’t long before Deadpool, now hulked-out following the events in World War Hulks, recruited him to help kill the old Deadpool. AIM knew the location of Dr. Doom’s time machine, currently in Thundra’s hideout, so Bob led Hulkpool there, and transported him into the past.

Not knowing how to use the thing properly, however, he sent Hulkpool to a number of different time periods, where he managed to completely mess up history. An AIM superior turned up to harangue him, and exposit that he’d actually managed to create a divergent timeline to mess up, before trying to abandon Hulkpool there as he fought the Deadpool from the previous day.

Knocking out his superior, Bob recovered Hulkpool, and then set about looking for another job.

Personality

A browbeaten coward, Bob only joined HYDRA because his wife forced him to. Then he was taken hostage by Deadpool, and soon became his biggest fan (not that he won’t betray him if threatened by someone scary enough). Mr. Wilson has become his role model, and Bob will follow him into any scary situations, obeying sycophantically (as long as he’s ordered to hide).

His HYDRA training has left him with a justifiable fear of Wolverine, Captain America, and Elektra, and when stressed out he has a tendency to shout out HYDRA slogans (see first quote).

While he seems to love his wife Bob also lives in fear of her. He takes any opportunity to get away from her. Were she threatened, though, he’d probably come to her aid (although those threatening her may well be in more danger in such a situation).

Quotes

“Hail HYDRA ! Immortal HYDRA ! We shall never be destroyed ! Cut off a limb and two more shall take its place !”

“I’m so glad you kidnapped me from the HYDRA base before Wolverine came after us. After Captain America… and maybe Elektra… Wolverine is the one all HYDRA agents are trained to fight against. Well, the classes were ’tactics of retreat 101’, ’advanced tactics of surrender‘, and ’hiding places 301’.”

“We’re gonna die ! We’re gonna die ! We’re gonna die !”

“Where can I hide ?”

“Oh, no — he sees us ! Quick — evasive strategy 423 ! Hide behind the person in front of you !”

Deadpool: “Bob, your HYDRA training has made you the best stealth operative I’ve ever met. I mean, sometimes I can’t find you anywhere…”
Bob: “Thank you, sir. Can I go be stealthy now…?”
