Powers and Abilities

Cole is a vastly experienced military man and mercenary. As such he possesses knowledge in many different skills ranging from sniping, unarmed combat, piloting, sneaking and tracking. His overall effectiveness is greatly increased by his various cyborg abilities. The enhancements done on him give him superhuman toughness.

Also installed are various detection abilities such as thermal sight and radar. His built in visor provides him with effective resistance towards flare attacks. During his days as a Hellfire Commando he was imbued with a permanent mental block against various psionics by Emma Frost.

His greatest assets are probably his physical toughness, ruthlessness and professional attitude.

History

Cole used to be in the military. He ended up working as a Hellfire Commando, the elite forces and security guards of the nefarious Hellfire Club.

After Wolverine seriously mauled a dozen Hellfire mercenaries, Cole being among them, the Hellfire Club reconstructed them with high-efficiency prosthetics. These mercenaries felt a great hatred towards the X-Man for what he had done to them. Cole worked for the Hellfire Club some more time after that and met Wolverine again.

Along three cyborg friends, Macon, Reese and Arnold, whom he probably knew since his military days, he worked alongside Lady Deathstrike in order to kill Wolverine. The attempt failed and Arnold was killed.

For the rest of his history, see the Reese write-up. Cole is supposed to have been killed by the Sentinel attack sent on Donald Pierce, but that remains to be seen.

Description

Cole is quite a muscular man with crew-cut brown hair and brown eyes. He, like the other old Hellfire Commandos, appears to wear a helmet and other technical equipment, but, in fact, all of it is built into his cyborg body. He’s also the only Reaver to wear a permanent breathing apparatus.

On his bare skin are easily visible circuits and connections. Immediately beneath the skin is a tough metallic alloy, which becomes visible when he’s damaged. Covering his body is a military camouflage uniform or commando trousers and a vest along heavy boots.

While at work, when not nagging about one thing or another, he moves in strict military manners while securing the area from any enemies.

Personality

Cole is a professional military man. As such he should be accustomed to hard jobs and serious situations, but always complains about one thing or another. At heart he’s a real pessimist, but he also truly loves a soldier’s life and work. His preferred weapon is a sniper rifle, which hints at him having a preference for dealing with enemies by sneaky surprise attacks.

Whenever he has a chance to do so he’ll tease his teammates and taunt opponents. Being a real tough man, he loves beer and hates juice and water. Of course, he’s also a womanizer. During his spare time he likes to complain (using a cynical sense of humor), discuss/watch movies and play cards.

Like the rest of the surviving ex-Hellfire Commandos he cares for the safety of his old teammates. Against enemies he’s ruthless and cold.

Cole is accustomed to pretty desperate fights, but usually kvetches  more than usual under stress. He also tends to take after certain movie characters in combat situations. He likes to let others do the thinking for him and therefore easily takes orders from his old pal Reese. Cole’s general hatred of things is also evident in his unusually powerful hatred of Wolverine.

Cole realizes the danger of crossing Pierce, but really only trusts Reese and Macon.

Quotes

Macon: “It aims a bit too much to the right.” (commenting on gun)
Cole: “The aim works fine, Macon. The error must be in your own slow systems.”

“End of the world.”

“Chicks in the military are manlier than most men… the problem for you, sweetheart, is that so are we ! (’vam, vam, vam‘)”

DC Universe History

Cole is a cyborg mercenary and thus not big deal in the DC Universe. He’d easily be inserted as is, but his origin has to be connected to some other villainous group, and to some other vigilante.

For example, Cole could have been working for Cobra’s Cult when he was mauled by some ruthless vigilante. The tech level also suggests that Cole once was part of Team Luthor…
