Powers and Abilities
The Cosmic Clown’s robot body is stronger and more durable then those of humans. It can survive indefinitely in space.
He can track other clowns in his vicinity.
His tongue can be extended around 10 feet, grabbing targets, and even trying to strangle them.
The Clown has a number of weapons that it uses, including :
- The Finger of Destiny, a blast of an unidentified type of energy released through his finger.
- Antigrav Floppy Shoes. These allow him to walk on air, even through space.
- A Constrictive Kazoo, which can easily cover an human-sized target.
- A number of sparkly Starry Balls, which explode.
History
A member of an order of robotic assassins who look like clowns, the Cosmic Clown’s programming was damaged during a job on the planet Rotcod. That happened when one of his target’s guards managed to shoot him in the head. Abandoning the job, the Clown wandered space for decades convinced that his “brothers” would be out to get him.
Arriving on Earth looking for a place to lay low, he was disturbed to find other clowns had reached it before him. The renegade decided he had to wipe them out before they found him. Seeing a poster for the Breeding-Mosely Circus, he decided to eradicate them, but this brought him into conflict with the Heckler.

Clash of the titans
His appearance similar enough to that of a clown, the Clown decided the Heckler would be a valid target. He thus tried to kill him. The Heckler fooled him by wearing a dress and acting alluringly. The Clown was apparently completely taken in by this, becoming easy prey when the Heckler hit him with a large club. This knocked the Clown’s head off.
The Clown’s head, realising the deception, used its extensible tongue to try and throttle the Heckler. This is when Bob, fanatical follower of the Quest-Vision television program, came in. Bob believed the Clown to be the Time Jester from one of the show’s episodes. He thus tasered the pair, taking the head as a souvenir.
The still functional head now lives in Bob’s apartment, where it irritates Bob to no end.
Personality
Cold and impersonal, the Cosmic Clowns primary motivation is to evade his former colleague. He readily tries to kill anyone who looks like they may be a clown, with little concern for collateral damage.
Following the damage to its programming, the Clown seems determined to atone for its past actions. He seeks to kill all other clowns, assuming them to be its former colleagues, both in self-defence and to make amends.
As a bodyless head in Bob’s apartment, the Clown seems to take pleasure in irritating its captor with pointless gags. Such as waking him in the night asking for a glass of water, which it can’t drink anyway.
Quotes
“Scanning… six sentient adversaries in immediate area. Confirmed… all are apparently disabled… confirmed. Two damaged and four rendered permanently inoperable. Now scanning for target. Position confirmed, course calculated — activating antigrav floppy shoes. Antigrav floppy shoes activated.”
“Crashing cream cakes, clerk, do you kid me ?! This currency is accepted in 24 star systems ! And the Kabobbian Colonies. Why… why, it’s accepted everywhere !”
“Sacred Knish ! A whole nest of them ! Must eradicate them… must atone for my blood-stained past.”
