Context

This character is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.

Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event.

This specific character was part of a RPG campaign run by writeups.org contributor Bil.

Powers and Abilities

Darkenwulf is a humanoid lupine, of unknown origins.

His agility, strength, and endurance are superhuman, as are his speed, hearing, and sense of smell. He has incredibly hard and sharp claws, capable of rending advanced alloys, and can run at exceptional speeds.

History

By his own admission, Darkenwulf knows nothing about his life before he arrived at the Mendolsson Memorial Hostel for Displaced Metahumans. Bezoar proclaimed him to be a supernatural entity at one point, and a human mutant at another.

The only thing he knows is his age, and the fact that he somehow owes his life to Black Tiger. Neither knows how, but have become best friends.

Description

As a large, wolf-like humanoid creature, Darkenwulf is as broad as a barn door. He is covered in black and dark grey fur, but fights in a tattered pair of sweatpants.

When not intending to go into combat, he dresses quite well, and even owns his own, tailored tuxedo.

Personality

Darkenwulf is Black Tiger’s best friend, and the two are holy terrors around the hostel.

One of their favorite games when a new arrival first gets his or her tour of the hostel is to play “cat and dog”. Black Tiger assumes his tiger form, while Darkenwulf crouches down on all fours. The two then chase each other all over the hostel usually to the confusion of the new arrival, and the irritation of many of the hostel’s inhabitants.

He is also an incorrigible practical joker, and sees no one as beyond his reach. This even spills over into fights, where he will go to great lengths to play pranks on an opponent. Especially if that opponent is either far below his power level, or far too powerful for him to directly face.

DC Universe History

Either the Hostel and the New Legion could be translated over to the DC Universe, or he, Black Tiger, the Tasmanian Devil, a time-travelling Furball, and a couple others could, as a joke, form the Justice League of Fuzzy Folk, an idea given to me by a friend.
