Sizematic, Darklight and Flamesplasher - Bad DC Comics villains - Titans

Darklight

(Teen Titans enemy)

Context

Darklight is an obscure, meh DC Comics pair of villains. They debuted in 1977.

They fought the Teen Titans, and only appeared once. Due to the aforementioned meh-ness, yes ?

  • Group Affiliation: Once worked for Two-Face.
  • Base of Operations: East Coast.

Powers & Abilities

The Darklight twins seem trained in athletics and hand-to-hand combat. Their agility appears to be slightly above average.

One twin can emit a bright flash of light. Flash, aaa-haaaa, he’ll save every one of us.

The other can surround herself with a thick cloud of darkness. It’s not smoke – people have no problem breathing within.

The darkness-emitting twin can’t see in her dark cloud. So her usual tactic is to discreetly slip out of the cloud, and let her opponents assume that she’s still within.

Darklight - DC Comics - Titans enemy - vs. Joker Daughter and Wonder Girl

History

The Darklight twins were once recruited by Two-Face (Harvey Dent), along with two other pairs :

  • The Sizematic twins. One could grow, the other shrink.
  • The Flamesplasher twins. One wielded fire, the other water.

Two three-person pairs were simultaneously deployed in Gotham City and New York City, to steal stuff.

The Teen Titans intervened but :

  • During the first clash, one Darklight twin fooled Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) and the Joker’s Daughter (Duela Dent). The two Titans beat each other unconscious in Darklight’s darkness, both thinking they were hitting Darklight.
  • During the second clash, the Titans were expecting the same powers as with the previous trio. Hornblower (Mal Duncan) was therefore flat-footed when Darklight blinded him with a flash. Flash, aaa-haaa, stand for every one of us.

The villains were defeated once the Titans understood what was going on. Wonder Girl fooled the Darklight twins into fighting each other within a cloud of darkness.
