Powers and Abilities

DarkSun is an alien with a peak human physique.

He also can:

  • Become heavier.
  • Fly.
  • Repair damage on everybody and everything around him, be it people, animals, aliens or things.
  • Be quite hard to destroy.
  • Detect weak spots on an enemy’s combat position, making his own attacks devastating.

But his main power is that of enhancing all of this a thousandfold thanks to his ultra-efficient processing of solar energy. He can even derive nourishment from sunlight, and this naturally makes him more resilient to heat and radiation damage.

On the other hand, a side effect of his enhanced reaction time is that he is now much more easily affected by electrical streams.

History

Sindromeda, at the Vega solar system. We have heard of the typical Sindromedan, turned evil and psionic through weird experiments with the gas cloud that surrounds the planet. Also from the affable Graffalloons, who managed to stay unaffected by the genetic change. But there is a third intelligent race at Sindromeda, one located in the south continent of the planet. It once was the same that the north Sindromedans.

Through 400,000 years of split evolution, the south Sindromedans slightly diverged from their northern counterparts. Thus, they were unaffected by the violence awakening gas. Or so they thought.

Discovery

One day, one of the peaceful Sindromedans discovered that it was the massive amount of obsidian around them that kept their powers suppressed. After climbing a high cliff made of another material and exposing himself to the light of Vega, his powers awakened.

He was faster than he had ever dreamt, he could fly, he could became heavier than the rocks around him. Suddenly an eclipse took place and he vanished until it ended. The dark side of the sun had made him the same as his brothers of the north: evil. It also made obsidian his Kryptonite.

He also preferred not to return to his home town, so nobody would discover the powers (and the dark side) that leaving it could give them.

He fled to the north. After some days of flying he reached a Khundian outpost who was recruiting Sindromedans for the invasion of a distant planet. Helped by his enhanced agility, the south Sindromedan made his stealthy way into the spaceship and finally found himself at a whole new planet: Earth.

Another world

After the invasion  failed, the south Sindromedan made himself a new life. He worked at an American circus as a strongman and knife thrower. Years later he had reached Brazil. But he knew that an eclipse would come, and planned to hide in the rainforest to weather it.

There, his alter ego took control of him. His dark side slaughtered several Natives, and left a message etched in Sindromedan onto a cliffside: “I know you. I hate you. I’ll destroy all you love. See you soon, Solar”.

The Sindromedan remained in Brazil, which reminded of Graffallon. He now called himself “Silvinho”, and worked with São Paulo street kids as a social worker.

The Mist

After being located by Dr. Mist, Silvinho has joined HK-47, Djinn, Valfadir and others in the latest incarnation of the Global Guardians.

Their first assignments have been rescuing two diplomats kidnapped by the Masters of Disaster and defeating the new attempt of Felix Faust at summoning the Demons Three: Abnegazar, Rath and Ghast.


Description

A very tanned Brazilian in his 30’s with loose light trousers and a white shirt, usually open.

He’s wiry, flexible and has a sometimes sad look in his eyes.


Personality

Silvinho is trying to make a new life helping people, his main reason to flee from Sindromeda. That doesn’t means he has to lift cars or punch bank robbers. He thinks criminals have always a reason that must be understood and always tries to resort first to talk, sometimes to lengths that his teammates think too extreme.

He is a plain good man, who doesn’t like to resort to violence. But his likes of the ways of the word makes him sometimes say more than he ought to.

Bonuses and Limitations:

  • Damage Transferance: heals Physical, Mental and Mystical damage ; no time limit; no risk of injury risk ; usable also on machines ; Area Effect with selective area.
  • Density Increase: APs of Power engaged add to STR ; does not substract from Dex.
  • Energy Absorption: Usable only against heat ; absorbed Energy adds to Power Reserve.
  • Flight: doesn’t allow for OV subbing.
  • Invulnerability: counteracts Physical, Mental and Mystical.
  • Power Reserve: Applies to DEX, BODY, MIND, SPIRIT, and all powers except Sealed Systems and Solar Sustenance (still, Energy Absorption can only boost it by 5 APs).
