Powers and Abilities
Jasmin has got stuck on her astral form and can’t return to the material world. She doesn’t even know if she’s really alive, still. Before, she could barely manifest a kind of “poltergeist” telekinesis around her.
In her new psionic form, her mental powers got developed to a greater measure than before.
- She can now detect life.
- Is nearly immune to illusions.
- She can speak and attack telepathically, and even read thoughts and memories.
- She can also project intense emotions around her.
- She can concentrate her telekinesis in a single, powerful blast of force instead of spreading it around her.
History
Jasmin’s Bedouin tribe was named Djinn. That was because a phantasmal force was known to defend them frequently, ripping weapons from the hands of many enemies at the same time and raising small sandstorms to hide the tribe.
With time, it became evident that the poltergeist was specifically linked to Jasmin, so it was she who became named “Djinn”. She became a respected and feared person, but not a loved one.
When Djinn’s tribe witnessed secret military nuclear operations in the Quaraci desert, soldiers tried to kill them. The Bedouins fought and escaped. But soon the soldiers came back with Harun, a psionic recruiter from President’s Marlo’s Jihad. He kidnapped Jasmin and killed all her tribe.
She managed to revenge by killing the whole military party with a deadly explosion, but since she has remained immaterial. It’s not yet clear if Harun survived the blast.
Global Guardians
Recently, Djinn has joined HK-47, Darksun, Valfadir and others in the latest incarnation of the Global Guardians.
Their first assignments have been rescuing two diplomats kidnapped by the Masters of Disaster and defeating the new attempt of Felix Faust at summoning the Demons Three: Abnegazar, Rath and Ghast.
At this continuity Dr. Mist survived his apparent death and Neron has re-evolved Abnegazar to his full form, something he will take away from him in case Felix Faust’s attempt to summon the Demons fails.
Description
Jasmine’s a Northern African girl about 20 years old.
Under her dark blue kaftan with veil, both decorated with Arab light-blue patterns she’s dressed with a black T-shirt and trousers. Her face is not covered, as at the moment of her tribe’s assassination she was still an unmarried woman.
Personality
Jasmine is a shy young girl with a fast knack for getting the details of people and places. She has got used to look behind the first appearance of any situation.
She hates the inhumane military dictatorships, and for some time she helped Quraci pro-western rebels to rescue people, because she felt (and still does) too guilty to kill another time.
Finally she understood she didn’t felt at home anymore at Qurac, and accepted Dr. Mist’s offer to join the new Global Guardians to show to the world that there were also good people at Qurac, not just “terrorists”.
Quotes
Djinn: “I’ve done terrible things in my life.”
