Doctor Death's ghastly face

Doctor Death

(Fawcett comics)

Our contributor Sean once rampaged through the first issue of Fawcett’s America’s Beast Comics, published in 1941. He wrote up most everything that moved.

Which leaves us with a pile of forgotten and often so-so Golden Age  villains. If you need stock baddies for 1940s stories (or to mention in a timeline  for an original setting), this is a great resource.

  • Real Name: Unrevealed.

Powers and Abilities

He can scare people… to death ! The mere sight of his face is enough to give someone a heart attack.

He also has a cadre of goons.

One of several supervillains freed from jail by the Brain in America’s Greatest Comics #1, Dr. Death performed his one job well : he killed a senator.

He then just hung around the Brain’s secret HQ until Mr. Scarlet and Pinky showed up to mop them all up.

He is a bald man with a tattoo (?) of a skull and crossbones on his forehead.

He wears an ordinary suit, with a cape.

“I doubt you have seen my face before, my dear senator ! For it’s the face of… Death !”

DC Universe History

In the post-Crisis Universe, there is no reason why he could not have existed.
