Guvnor
Context
Back during the speculative comic books bubble of the early 1990s, Marvel Comics UK launched an unprecedented line of original comics. Traditionally, the British wing of Marvel had been chiefly distributing, and only created a little original material (such as Captain Britain). This line soon vanished, when the bubble collapsed.
Super-powered chav the Guvnor appeared in one such title, Super-Soldiers.

Powers and Abilities
When this mutant is hit by physical force (punches, bullets, falls…) he does not get hurt. Instead, he gets stronger.
History
Andy Black has always been a ne’er do well idiot. For a few years his main achievement was taxing Tacchinis and Pringles from sports shops.
He didn’t realize he was a mutant until Professor Charles Xavier visited. Black’s father, however, denied anything was wrong with his boy. When Xavier talked about his boarding school, Mr. Black assumed he was some kind of pervert.
But Andy Black knew the truth about the mutant part. And after he and the neighbourhood kids were finished chucking stones at Xavier, he entered the unlicensed boxing circuit as “Boy” Black.
He didn’t know squat about boxing. But he used his mutant power to cheat his way up to the highest title on the unlicensed circuit. Black won the title of “the Guvnor”, England’s champion clandestine boxer. His obviously rigged victory triggered a bad riot.

Holding the belt
The new Guvnor was recruited by Hydra to participate in a martial arts championship to determine the best martial artists in the world. Once in the Savage Land (where the kumite was held), Black learned that the fights were to the death. Once he realised he could actually get hurt, Black attempted to flee.
However, he got drunk first. Which is how he stumbled on two other contestants as well as Dalton, one of the UK Super-Soldier, working as a S.H.I.E.L.D. plant. Black helped Dalton fight against Hydra until the S.H.I.E.L.D. assault brought down that base.
The Guvnor was recruited by the UK Super-Soldier as a grunt. But they were privatized not much later – and their contracts bought by the Mercy Security Corporation. Tests on Black’s mutant powers were conclusive, and he remained on staff.
Description
As a Mercy employee, the Guvnor will wear standard Mercy super-soldier uniform. This is a blue-gray jumpsuit with metallic boots, red forearm guards and gray belt, bandolier and pouches.
On his right hand, the Guvnor has tattooed the letters ACAB below the knuckles – “All Coppers Are Bastards”.
Personality
As Dalton put it – “As for the kid, he’s just a super-powered football hooligan. He’s thick as a plank”.
That was a generous opinion. Black is both violent and cowardly (he was begging for his life before being shot and discovering bullets didn’t affect him). He is stupid and ignorant. He loves beer, charlie and football, and is particularly proud of his mutant ability.
Given his hooligan hatred for law enforcement, Black would certainly become a random criminal if left to his own device. As a Mercy agent, he’s a mercenary without a conscience trudging into dirty little troubles and not giving a shit.
