Hardhat of Cannibal Catch (Nomad enemy) (Marvel Comics)

(Cannibal Catch)

Power Level:
Game system: DC Heroes Role-Playing Game

Cannibal Catch and the Wanderers are two excruciatingly minor mercenary groups in the Marvel Universe. They appeared in but one Nomad/Captain America storyline.

They get short profiles because they occupy a grey space between stock, faceless thugs and “named”  characters. They’re still generic, but they get a code name, a gimmick, an individual visual and are a pip above generic elite muscle in competence.

As such they could be useful in stories where the hero(es) are closer to action heroes than to super-heroes.

Powers and Abilities

Hardhat is a big strong body builder with a large hammer.

All members of Cannibal Catch and the Wanderers would rather have a situation turn into a brawl rather than a gunfight. Presumably because they’d rather end up with a concussion than a gunshot wound into an organ they’d rather keep functional.

The Wanderers and Cannibal Catch are two small groups of street-level mercenaries that were seen in Florida. The Wanderers worked for Doctor Faustus, who was then attempting to become the Kingpin of Florida). Cannibal Catch worked for the incumbent crimelord, the Slug.

The Wanderers captured the vigilante Nomad (Jack Monroe) while he was drunk and delivered him to Faustus. They then accompanied a brainwashed Nomad on an assault on the Slug’s place, where they ran into Cannibal Catch. The Wanderers defeated Cannibal Catch in a brawl, but then ran into Captain America (Steve Rogers), with highly predictable results.

Both mercenary groups likely continue to ply their trade throughout the US, or possibly the Americas in general.

He doesn’t actually wears a hard hat. But his hammer has a “Thor rulz !” inscription on it.

A confident mercenary. He might be an actual, modern Thor worshipper – there are some in the Marvel Universe.

Transom: “We’re called Cannibal Catch.”
Fastback: “You’re called trespassers.”
Hardhat: “We’ll eat you alive !”
Folio: “And use your bones as toothpicks !”
