Powers and Abilities

Helspont is a daemonite High Lord. He shares his race ability to possess hosts. As he despises the human race, he did not choose a human. He”s hosted in an Acuran body, which gives him this physical body and some of his abilities.

He is a great Daemonite general.

History

Helspont arrived on Earth at the end of our prehistory. His warship crashed there after an orbital skirmish with a Kherubim exploration vessel. He was the general of the military party aboard the ship. As such, he was granted with the title and status of Daemonite High Lord. This also means that he received one of the three keys necessary to control the mighty dreadnought.

After the evacuation of the ship, the lifeboats landed anywhere on Earth. Meanwhile the vessel crashed someplace unknown. The Daemonites immediately tried to impose their power on the primitive local populations. But the Kherubim were ever present to prevent them to reach this goal.

XXth century

The whereabouts of Helpont are not related until the late 1970s. Back then, he tried to use American nuclear assets to help him eradicate Earth’s infestation (i.e. the human race). He was stopped by I.O.’s Team One, led by the Kherubim Lord Emp.

Helspont reappeared in the early 1990s with his project Reunification. He wanted to bring to Earth a Daemonite war fleet as reinforcement. This would give him a tremendous edge over the lone Kherubims. To this end, he first infiltrated the US government by placing a Daemonite in the body of the Vice-President. Then he managed to get control of an Orb of Power.

These powerful cosmic artifacts are fragments of the Void entity that exploded near Earth, projecting his debris in the atmosphere. With the US connection, he got the resources to study and exploit the power of the Orb. Thus, he was close to manage to bring the fleet through an interstellar gate.

The scheme was foiled by the intervention of the WildCATs, led by… Lord Emp. Helspont was presumed dead under the rubble of the explosion of the SDI  plant he was using for summoning his gateway.

Wildstorm Rising

But he resurfaced during the ’Wildstorm Rising‘ episode. Hightower, helped by the WildCATs, wanted to get hold of Helspont’s Daemonite key. They were racing against any Daemonite that may have heard of the possible emergence of the third key.

Helspont had one, Lord Defile had another. The missing one was held by the ship captain that crashed, and died with the ship. So finding the key meant finding the ship. With the ship and the three keys possibly reunited, the owner had a weapon capable of destroying the planet.

That is when Helspont came back from the grave. He still had his key and took Hightower’s key fragment. Lord Defile had the one and half. It ended in an epic battle, near the supposed site on the crashed ship, to get the three keys. All the Wildstorm heroes fought against the two Daemonite lords.

In the end, it turned out that the ship was not the Daemonite Dreadnought but the Kherubim exploration vessel. Yet, though not as mighty as the Daemonite one, she still held impressive firepower. So the battle continued for control of the ship.

Spartan entered the ship to neutralize it. He was followed by Nautika and Sunburst, still under Defile’s influence. They destroyed Spartan and used the ship’s weaponry to shoot Helspont.

Description

Helspont host body is a tall, strong humanoid. His head is a huge black skull surrounded by light blue heatless flames. Take Ghost Rider’s appearance, paint his skull black and his flames blue and you got Helspont.

Personality

Helspont despises the non-Daemonite races. Grounded on Earth, he wants to eradicate its inhabitants and shape the planet to fit Daemonite life, with him at the ruler.

Though he managed to get human servants to help in his quest, he has no intention of keeping them alive once his domination is insured. He trusts no one but himself. And if a minion of his shows the slightest sign of treason, he is executed on the spot.

Quotes
