HK-47
(No, this isn't the droid you're looking for.)
Context
This character is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.
Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event. This specific character was part of the New Global Guardians campaign, run by writeups.org contributor Kal El.
Although the character was obviously named after the Star Wars droid (not an unknown phenomenon with players), this writeup does not cover anything Star Wars-related.

Powers and Abilities
HK-47, or Revan, as he likes to be called, is a robot with higher than human resistance, due to the composition of his body.
He also a photographic memory. He combines that with his top computational brain to achieve spectacular predictions on chaotic environments as the stock exchange.
He has given himself a laser emitter and an advanced holographic projector that gives him human appearance.

History
(In this continuity Dr. Mist survived his apparent death and Neron has re-evolved Abnegazar to his full form. This is something he will take away from the Pre-Dead in case Felix Faust’s attempt to summon the Demons fails.)
Born in a laboratory in the last days of 1994, HK-47 was conceived to help scientist Reiter von Ritter in his studies. He works for the European Union, specially the development of the EuroFighter plane .
Due to the economical cuts from all the countries who financed the EuroFighter, HK-47 had been thought to be a one-time expensive solution. He serves as an engineer, builder and tester. He’s completely self-sufficient and without the many restrictions of the human body.
Rampant?
As time went by, the android started showing strange behaviour patterns. This ranged from seemingly self-generation of code into its programming that allowed him to decide without the need of a human being, to the worrying moment the machine started to give proof of self-conscience.
The danger in that made von Reitter to contact a friend of his, fantasy writer Olaf Larsson, to give his creation a pattern of behaviour inspired by heroes and do-gooders. The writer would also teach basic social truths through tale-telling. Because at this stage it was clear that project HK-47 was becoming human.
Or almost so.
HK-47 himself noticed something he lacked: the expression “feeling” was something out of his comprehension. One day, after finding thousands of questions neither he nor his creator had no answer, the android decided he needed what human beings called “a soul”.
Deeper shade of soul
Leaving von Ritter after finishing the airplane project. He covered his inhuman looks with a holographic projector, and started a new life in London as a normal human being. He faked an identity, started a career in the stock exchange and became one of the most successful brokers of The City.
Thanks to the values received from his writer teacher, the android understood that helping others would be an advancement towards something so ethereal as a “soul”. Thus he started a parallel life as defender of the feeble ones and scourge of villains. The robot sometimes backed his actions with his impressive wealth, although he tried to keep as low a profile as he could.
He also built an impressive aerial fortress, kind of a hovering building he can call from his sky-high retreat when it’s needed. The last touch on his fight on crime was adding a laser beam projector to his optical sensors. This is something that proved also useful for his lab work.
Global Guardians
Recently, HK-47 has joined Darksun, Valfadir (his writer friend Olaf, who turned to be a norse shapechanger), Djinn and others in the latest incarnation of the Global Guardians.
Their first assignments have been rescuing two diplomats kidnapped by the Masters of Disaster and defeating the new attempt of Felix Faust at summoning the Demons Three: Abnegazar, Rath and Ghast.
Description
This android has been given an overall human shape. The exo-skeleton that covers his body is of a copper coloring, although it’s far from being copper, but a extremely durable and light alloy.
His legs are quite like those of a human, though metallic, but he has no toes. Furthermore, the legs steeply end at his thin V-shaped waist. This makes visible the hydraulic joints that would put together the “femur” and the “hip”.
From the waist raises a thick column-like abdomen that hosts his “spine”. It ends at the most voluminous part of HK-47, his chest, where most of his circuitry is installed.
The arms are completelly articulated to allow a great degree of movements, although not higher than a normal human. His hands have 5 fingers, including an opposed thumb. At his head, two shining red eyes give him an evil look. From a tall frontal grid, where the mouth should be located, emanates a metallic and lacked of emotions voice.
Revan Delwynn is a normal human designed by HK-47 to be as “generic” as he could make him. The holographic projector includes a sound processor that takes the metallic tint out of his voice, although it still appears cold and distant. Revan dresses in grey suits with white shirts. Yet he’s fast in detecting fashion trends at the stock change and upgrading his clothes to it.
Personality
Although this android has learned a lot despite his young age, he’s aware he still has a lot to discover. Feelings are still something beyond his grasp. He can detect them in a face, in a voice, but he can’t display them, let alone naturally generate them.
He’s, then, a cold and a bit naive android, although always willing to learn more on what a soul is, and what is it needed for.
Quotes
“There’s a 94.3% chance that man in the dark suit is following us.”
“What is to have a soul ? I need to know.”
