Powers and Abilities
The Huntress from O.G.R.E. is a skilled assassin and hand to hand combatant. She is also a crack shot with her chosen weapon, a modified speargun.
Aquaman clashed with agents of the criminal organization O.G.R.E. on several occasions. Yet he never again encountered any armed with a weapon similar in design to the Huntress’ Electronic Force Field Bull’s Eye Speargun. Therefore, I have written her up under the assumption that this super-weapon is a product of her own scientific ability.
History
Though her activities before being shanghaied were not revealed, her fantastic weapon, the skill with which she uses it, and a possible pre-O.G.R.E. connection to the thug Typhoon suggest that the Huntress may have already been on the wrong side of the law before being pressed into service by the Supreme One.
In her only recorded appearance, the Huntress from O.G.R.E. was tasked with killing Aquaman and Mera. The King and Queen of Atlantis, using the aliases of the vacationing “Mr. and Mrs. Waterman”, were working undercover for the United States Government. This case brought them into conflict with the Organization for General Revenge and Enslavement or O.G.R.E..
Both O.G.R.E. and Uncle Sam were searching out the location of Auto-Fac Alpha, a lost automated missile factory. The factory was hidden somewhere under an artificial island used as a vacation spot by tourists.
When the Supreme One, leader of O.G.R.E., discovered the Waterman’s true identities he sent the Huntress and fellow O.G.R.E. agent Typhoon to kill the pair. Though they bungled the first attempt on Aquaman and Mera’s lives, the Supreme One, citing their exemplary past service to O.G.R.E., allowed them a second opportunity to redeem themselves.
The beautiful young assassin was defeated on her second attempt, however.

Defecting
After her capture, the Huntress became terribly frightened. She told Aquaman and Mera about a surgically implanted bomb called the Liquidation Cell that O.G.R.E. used to ensure loyalty and success from its agents. Fearing that this second failure meant its activation, she warned them to run lest they be caught in its blast, as well.
Aquaman left the Huntress in Mera’s care, defeated Typhoon, and invaded the Supreme One’s strange amphibious craft. He disabled the Liquidation Device just in time to save the Huntress and Typhoon from death but was captured in the process.
After freeing himself, Aquaman found himself in a pitched underwater battle with a veritable army of frogmen, agents of the foreign power to whom O.G.R.E. agreed to sell the missiles from Auto-Fac Alpha.
It seemed all was lost until Mera, the Huntress, and Typhoon swam into the picture! After dispatching the enemy frogmen, the Huntress led Aquaman directly to the Supreme One’s secret headquarters. The Huntress explained that she and Typhoon had been shanghaied by the Supreme One’s other agents and that once the Liquidation Cells were in place they had to obey.
Aquaman assured her that the law would consider her story when she and Typhoon faced justice.
Description
Beach Blanket Bedlam ! For much of her encounter with Aquaman, the Huntress’ costume consists of a leopard skin patterned bikini with yellow swim fins and a scuba tank. Her scuba mask sports upturned “cat’s eye” type horns.
She is also seen in a sleeveless red tunic with a black collar, navy blue pants, and red slippers.
Her Electronic Force Field Bull’s Eye Speargun is a red gun with a long, chambered barrel.
As for her physical appearance, the Huntress is a pretty young woman with medium length brown hair, wide blue eyes, and an extremely expressive face. Think of Mary Tyler Moore in her early twenties .
Personality
When in the service of the Supreme One, the Huntress from O.G.R.E. was a hip, quip-slinging femme fatale quick with an “O.G.R.E. forever!” salute.
Once defeated by Aquaman, the Huntress turned into a terrified young woman willing to assist her assigned target to save her own life.
She treats Typhoon with little to no respect.
Quotes
“Huntress is the name, Goldilocks ! The Huntress from O.G.R.E..”
DC Universe History
Though the Huntress from O.G.R.E. has not resurfaced in the post-Crisis DC Universe, it is not impossible for her encounter with Aquaman and Mera to have occurred much as it was originally presented.
It is possible that her long absence was due to her “paying her debt to society” and she is only now being released from prison. As an interim claimant on the Huntress name she might come gunning for the current Huntress.

O.G.R.E. (Low), Typhoon (Low).
Drawbacks:
Secret Identity, Miscellaneous: “Liquidation Cell”. Surgically implanted in Huntress’ body by O.G.R.E., the Liquidation Cell is a tiny but powerful explosive that ensures her obedience. If she should betray or fail the criminal organization, the Supreme One can push the Liquidation Button and the Cell will detonate. The Liquidation Cell has the Bomb Power rated at 8 APs.
Note:
Presumably, the Huntress from O.G.R.E. no longer has the Secret Identity Drawback as Aquaman turns her over to the authorities at the story’s end.
Equipment:
- Electronic Force Field Bull’s Eye Speargun [BODY 05, EV: 05, Snare: 09, Water Freedom: 07, Range: 06, Ammo: 08, R#: 02, Limitation: The Speargun’s Water Freedom Power only allows its wielder to ignore the +2 Column Shift Penalty that would ordinarily affect its use underwater. It does not grant its wielder the other benefits of the Water Freedom Power. Note: The Speargun’s Snare Power represents its Electronic Force Field Bull’s Eye. This is the gun’s targeting system that takes the form of a corridor of concentric rings that radiate from the gun’s barrel. These rings expand to a maximum diameter of approximately 5 feet (-1 AP) to encircle a target, leaving little room to dodge the gun’s spears. An electrical charge applied to the rings will travel back to the speargun itself].
- SCUBA TANKS [BODY 06, Sealed Systems: 09, R#: 02 Limitation: The Scuba Tank’s Sealed Systems Power does not protect against radiation attacks].
- Scuba Mask [BODY 02, Extended Hearing: 05, Super Ventriloquism: 05, R#: 02, Limitation: The Scuba Mask’s Extended Hearing and Super Ventriloquism are only functional underwater].
- Swim Fins [BODY 02 Advantage: The Swim Fins add 1 AP to the wearer’s movement speed in the water. The Huntress’ swimming speed when wearing them is 3 APs].
