Powers and Abilities

Jeremiah Rainmaker has the power to control the weather. He’s also surprisingly strong for such a beanpole.

However, he’s all punch and no staying power. Even only modestly powerful blows by superhero standards are enough to put him down for the count with one punch.


The Rainmaker men have wandered west of the Mississippi for as long as White men have settled it. They have used their hereditary power to offer drought stricken farmers the rain they need, and they’ve generally been very welcome visitors.

However, the current Rainmaker, Jeremiah, is a bad seed. He’s a lecherous, brawling drunkard. And he has turned the family trade into what verges on an extortion racket. When he shows up, you give him what he wants, whether it’s money, booze, to stay in the best house in town, or your daughter. Or you suffer drought, flood or tornado.

Despite this, the towns he serves and victimises are too dependant on his power to do anything about him. Without a Rainmaker, they could easily dry up and blow away.

Still, they look forward to a hoped for day when one of his bastard offspring manifests the power and they can be rid of him. Until then they’ll protect him from any consequences for his actions.


A tall, gaunt man with blood-shot eyes, and a leathery, deeply lined face despite not really being all that old. He usually dresses in an old fashioned rain slicker that belonged to his forefathers.


A spiteful lout who thinks he deserves to have anything he wants for the asking, and will make sure that anyone who tries to balk him pays. He enjoys beating people up with his hands, but if he starts losing, he cuts loose with the weather.
