History

Kendall Kent was Jonathan’s millionaire brother. He once visited his brother to try to adopt Clark from him.

After a near collision with a nitroglycerine truck, prevented by Superboy’s super breath, Kendall fell into a delusion that he had succeeded.

Clark had to adopt Kendall’s millionaire lifestyle until Superboy recreated the accident, this time pushing up the street into a bridge over the nitro truck.

This second shock restored Kendall’s sanity, allowing Clark to return to Jonathan.

Readopt

The second time Kendall invited Clark for an attempted adoption, Clark seemed to go wild with Kendall’s luxuries.

The youth couldn’t reveal that Superboy had spotted murder attempts on Kendall and used his brat act to cover up saving him.

Once Kendall sent Clark home, Superboy had to act openly to save Kendall and expose his lawyer, Larry Frane, for trying to kill him.

Inheritance

Some years later, when doctors gave Kendall no more than four months to live, he tried to convince Clark to accept inheriting his fortune afterwards.

Neither Clark nor his cousin Jillian was interested in the money. But when Kendall’s secretary, Hansom tried several times to kill him, Jillian decided, at Clark’s suggestion, to accept the inheritance and use it to create a charitable foundation.

Kendall was never seen again, and it can be assumed that his last diagnosis came to pass.

Description

Kendall Kent was a mildly portly gentleman with refined taste in everything. He thus dressed in three figure, three piece suits most of the time. Or else in hobby related uniforms for whatever he was doing.

He sported white hair, including a handlebar mustache.

He bore a striking resemblance to R.J. Brande. Mr. Kent may have at least partially inspired Brande’s appearance when Ren Daggle was diagnosed with Yorggian Fever.

Personality

After spending so many years amassing his fortune, Kendall spent the remainder enjoying his luxuries and seeking someone to inherit his millions.

His compassion for those around him was much deeper than some suspected, serving as a blind spot for some of his greedy employees.

Quotes

“For years I’ve dreamed of adopting Clark. Think of what my wealth could do for him… Travel… Luxury… He’d mingle with the upper crust… inherit my millions.”

“SUPERBOY ! What happened to my TRAIN ? Why are YOU here ?”

“I would have remembered you in my will, Hansom… You were wrong about that, and about my not caring. You WERE like a son. You hurt me, boy… DEEPLY !”
