Kid Lantern
Context
Kid Lantern is an original creation based on published characters. He exists in RPG campaign setting Universe AZ, which rests on remixed versions of numerous published characters.
This character is based on a synthesis of the Ibn al Xu’ffasch character with Terry McGinnis from Batman: Beyond. Which means that this profile has S P O I L E R S for the old Batman: Beyond animated series.
Said spoilers are because the amalgamation of the two characters was inspired by the Justice League Unlimited episode Epilogue (final episode season two). Which revealed Terry to be genetically Bruce Wayne’s son.

Powers and Abilities
Terry has no powers other than his great willpower.
He has however inherited a natural aptitude for physical endeavors, a nearly superhuman immune system, and a very sharp mind.
History
Terry McGinnis was born Ibn al Xu’ffasch (Son of the Bat) and is the child of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. As was shown in Batman: Son of the Demon, shortly after his birth he was left at an orphanage. The location not given in the comic but I am placing it in Baltimore.
He was raised by Warren and Mary McGinnis, a young couple who later conceived a child naturally (Matt). In Terry’s early teens his parents divorced and split the custody of the children with Warren taking Terry and Mary taking Matt.
To rule them all
Terry soon began to get into trouble eventually serving a three month sentence in juvenile hall. After his release his behavior, although technically legal, was growing worse. One morning he had a bad fight with his dad and ran out of the house. He left to see his girlfriend, Dana, and vent.
While hanging out outside his school a local gang came riding up and started causing trouble. Terry fought with them and stole one of their bikes and ran. They caught up to him outside of a very large old manor house (belonging to Alan Scott). This was coincidentally at a time when Alan was out for a stroll. Together they fought off the gang.
After helping Alan back to his house Terry wandered around for a while. He found a room with a glass case on a pedestal that had a green ring in it. Terry realized that it was a Green Lantern ring and deduced that the elderly stranger (this was just prior to Alan’s rejuvenation) was Earth’s first Green Lantern.
Alan at this point discovered Terry snooping and angrily ordered him out of the house.
Put a ring on it
Upon returning home he discovered that his dad had been murdered. Terry ran back to Alan’s manor and demanded that he put his ring on and do something about it. Alan, however, was in retirement at the time. Thus, he told him to let the police handle it. Not willing to accept that answer Terry broke in and stole the ring and became Kid Lantern.
After bringing his fathers killer to justice Terry was approached by Alan. He was granted permission to keep using the ring if he accepted training from him and Hal Jordan. Terry accepted and over the next few months he was run through a grueling series of tests and combat scenarios.
These were conducted not only by Scott and Jordan but also by Killowog, Rayner, and on a Titans mission in space, Gardner.
Development
Recently Terry discovered that he was adopted and while he hasn’t found any information suggesting who his natural parents are he is considering investigating.
Alan has also informed him that he will be required to journey to Oa soon in order to undergo more complete training by Killowog.
Description
Terry’s excellent genetics have gifted him with the kind of looks that some people would kill for. He is tall (and still got a little way to go), with dark hair, grey eyes, and is obviously fit.
Personality
Terry is warm caring and kind, except to his kid brother, with whom he has a pseudo-hate relationship.
He has grown as a person and a hero and is now a member of the Teen Titans. He gets along well with his teammates. His closest relationships are with his mom and his girlfriend Dana.
Robin has some suspicions about his true parentage but Terry only found out he was adopted a very short time ago and is still adjusting to it so Robin has decided to keep his suspicions to himself.
Terry has been made a probationary member of the Green Lantern Corps.
Quotes
“You make me laugh, but only because I think you’re kind of pathetic.”
“Look, Kon, we all know that wasn’t you. We know what Luthor did to you and no-one blames you for what happened!”
Dana: “Terry are you listening to me?”
Terry: [receiving an alert through his ring] “Uhhh… Dana I gotta go !”
