He can pull off a lot of the high-flying crazy kicks and acrobatics. He can also channel the spirit of the Phoenix, and add some flames to his attacks.
Lacking in experience, Kim Jae Hoon has yet to reach his father’s level of martial mastery. But since he has his dad’s work ethic and is constantly training, it seems likely that he’ll get there one day.
History
Jae Hoon is the youngest son of South Korean national hero Kim Kaphwan. He resembles his father in almost every respect.
He was born talented. But unlike his brother, Jae Hoon reinforced his talent with ceaseless training and hard work.
He frequently went on prolonged training missions with his father. Some of these took him to New South Town, where the Kims sparred with other strong martial artists.
Garou Mark of the Wolves
While Jae Hoon was training with younger martial artists, Kaphwan was suddenly attacked and badly injured by a mysterious opponent.
The diligent and obedient son swore vengeance. The indolent Dong Hwang, who had stayed behind in Korea to hit on girls and hang out with his friends, joined his brother.
After a bit of snooping around they heard of a new King of Fighters Tournament. They entered, reasoning that their father’s assailant would likely participate.
King of Fighters
The story was never detailed. All we know is that:
- The brothers did not win the tournament.
- But they uncovered their father’s attacker as the vicious assassin Freeman.
However, Freeman was seemingly shot dead by police officer Kevin Ryan and his colleagues before the Kim brothers could arrive.
Of course, neither brother was satisfied with this outcome. But they would have to wait for the next tournament to verify that Freeman was indeed dead.

Said tournament never was chronicled, as the game studio ran into major financial troubles.
From development notes, it seems that:
- Freeman was indeed still alive.
- The brothers would clash over who would run the Kim martial arts school.

Personality
Much like his father, a strict disciplinarian who constantly trains and pushes his body and skills to their limits.
He’s also pretty much a boy scout, and never forgives evil-doers.
Jae Hoon likes to care for small, cute pets. Such as hamsters, ferrets and the like. This implies a gentler, softer side – which seems to be a major reason why he has a fan club in Korea.
He’s also into techno music, whereas his father and brother are into K- and J-pop respectively.
