Kyle Travers
Context
As of this writing, Kyle’s a brand new character to the Street Fighter Universe so don’t feel bad if you’ve never heard of him. He does however come on the scene with a huge bang.
Kyle starred in his own video game, the latest edition of Final Fight – Final Fight Streetwise updated for more modern gamers.
He’s also a lot more realistic than most of the SF characters and would be much easier to fit into a street level campaign (no pun intended).
This profile is intended to be read after the character profile for Cody Travers.

History
Final Fight Streetwise
At the fight club after a little pep talk from his brother Cody, Kyle pulled a comeback. He sent Handsome Bob to the mat, much to the cheers of the audience (especially those that bet on him). Later outside, Kyle was drinking some beer when Cody arrived with the pit fight money. Cody was annoyed that Kyle didn’t get it himself, but they were at least making ends meet.
He then told Kyle to meet him at the Barfly in 30 minutes but didn’t explain. After punching some random people for randomly trying to punch him, Kyle arrived at the Barfly early. To kill time, he played some pool with the Barfly bartender (and his girlfriend) Vanessa Sims, who of course easily won.

Cody arrived late and aggravated, prompting Kyle to apologize for the earlier fight with Handsome Bob not going so well at first.
His brother promptly responded that wasn’t the reason he was mad, but that he was getting tired of waiting for Kyle to live up to his potential. Cody then told Kyle that he himself wanted to be able to fight again. Kyle pointed out that Cody’s knee problem made that unlikely, but Cody said that he had found something that could help.
Stiff situation
The two were interrupted when Devin “The Stiff” arrived. Cody refused to meetStiff, saying, “He knows the deal.” to which Stiff replied, “Deal’s changed.” Kyle had absolutely no idea what was going on, until an irate Stiff decided to slam a chair over Cody’s head.
Cody called for Kyle to back him up. The two brothers began to lay the whoop ass on Stiff’s goons, promptly trashing the entire bar in the process. Kyle noted with dismay in his journal that Vanessa was going to kill him for that.
Eventually, the bar brawl ended by Stiff pointing a gun to Kyle, who responded by spitting in his face. Stiff whacked Kyle in the head with his pistol, knocking him out as Stiff’s men held Cody back.
Kyle woke up in his apartment with Vanessa at his side, who told him that the Stiff left with Cody. Kyle responded that he was going after him to Vanessa’s protest. A piece of paper that was left behind from the brawl had “Metro City Diner” scrawled on its back, so with that as his only clue, Kyle headed there.
Amateur investigator
The cashier at the desk refused to give him any information until he helped out with a little cockroach problem, by running around like an idiot trying to stomp them to pieces as customers laughed. Making a note in his journal never to eat there again to avoid roaches in his sandwiches, Kyle was told that the local porn theatre manager, Weasel, had been spotted with the Stiff.
After arm wrestling an extremely bored porn cashier, Kyle entered the manager’s room, where Weasel and a hooker are busy with…stuff. Weasel denied any involvement with Stiff, but the Bible on his desk with the words “The Stiff” on it proved he was lying.
Kyle apologized to the lady in the room for the violence she was about to witness. Then he chased Weasel down and proceeded to slam the door on his head a few times. Weasel finally told Kyle that Stiff was at the warehouse and to bring the Bible there to talk to him. The Bible convinced the doorman at the warehouse to let Kyle in, though he just barely dodged a falling crate upon entering.
Weasel, behind the warehouse crane’s controls, angrily ordered his gang of Blue Ballers to get him while he attempted to crush Kyle with more boxes. When his gang was defeated, Weasel realized that his plan wasn’t working. He jumped into a forklift to try to run Kyle down.
This plan only resulted in severe whiplash from constantly crashing into walls as Kyle got out of the way and soon Weasel was in Kyle’s clutches once again.
Weasel talked
He begged, “Not the face!”. But his ugly face was spared thanks to his cell phone ringing. Kyle made him answer it. He eavesdropped as Stiff told Weasel to meet him at the hotel. Sparing Weasel’s face, Kyle knocked him out by smacking him in the back of his head. He left, getting more angry at all the crap he has to go through to find his brother.
Pondering at just how angry he was Kyle at the Barfly asked Vanessa if she’d ever killed anyone. She replied that she would if he ended up drinking all her beer without sharing any of it with her, then suggested he go see 2-Ill to find out which hotel Stiff would be at.
Kyle didn’t have any choice, so he headed down to the train station where 2-Ill was hanging out. But the man stated that he couldn’t help Kyle because he was in a heap of trouble at the moment. 2-Ill immediately ran off with a bunch of Metro City thugs hot on his tail. Kyle gave chase to help his contact.
2-Ill 4-fight
Kyle quickly paid the local tattoo parlor manager Paco (who just happened to be standing there) 100 dollars to help him defend 2-Ill. Paco was useful due to him simply providing an extra human shield for 2-Ill’s vulnerable self. The three beat back the attacking gang. 2-Ill was impressed at how much Kyle’s fighting abilities had grown.
In thanks for Kyle saving him, he gave Kyle information for free. Stiff was at the Bijou hotel at the pier district.
Doing a poor impression of Solid Snake, Kyle made his way through the hotel, stealthily avoiding Stiff’s goons…or simply just running up to them and punching out their lights just like everything else. A couple of guard dogs also felt the wrath of Kyle’s cockroach crushing feet.
Along the way, some Metro City civilians who rambled about a new drug they’d gotten accosted Kyle. Their eyes were glowing green and they looked more like zombies than people. Yet Kyle clobbered them all the same when they attacked.
Stiff found
At the top of the hotel, Kyle surprised one of Stiff’s men by knocking him off the building, before tackling the other and breaking through the glass roof window to the penthouse. They fell right behind the Stiff, ruining his contemplation of the bridge across the ocean. Somehow ignoring that the rest of the hotel was a trash dump, Stiff lamented about how he just had the carpet cleaned.
Kyle demanded Stiff tell him where Cody was. Stiff said that Cody was stuck in the glory days still, so he hooked Cody up with Vitto to pit fight in Little Italy. Kyle didn’t believe him, and Stiff, annoyed at this, whipped out a pistol and fired at Kyle.
With his pistol that he had taken from the guards, Kyle fired back, and after a brief gunfight, chased Stiff to the roof of the hotel. Outside on the roof, Kyle told Stiff that he was not looking to kill him and just wanted to know where Cody is. Stiff again said that Cody was with Vitto, after remarking that he didn’t think Kyle cared for guns.
Kyle still didn’t believe him, so they continued the fight with their fists. It ended with Stiff getting knocked off the rooftop. But Kyle grabbed him by the hand before he could fall to his death. Kyle tried to get more info from Stiff, asking about the Bible. Stiff replied that it was not for religious purposes and he’d burn in hell some day, but not tonight.
Stiff talks
He mocked Kyle, saying that Kyle wasn’t a killer and wouldn’t let him fall to his death. He then shocked Kyle by saying that not only is Cody was now allied with Vitto.
Kyle told him that he was lying and Stiff pulled out his pistol again and ordered Kyle to let him up or else he’d shoot Kyle on the count of three. He counted “one,” then “two,” and then Kyle, weary and tired and frustrated, let go on three, sending Stiff falling to his doom, futilely shooting in all directions.
Apparently, Stiff wasn’t paying attention earlier when Kyle knocked one of his men off the roof to their generic enemy doom as well. Nor did he research into the Travers’ penchant for making villains fall off of high places.
Kyle returned the Barfly to see Vanessa’s brother, Sgt. Sims, waiting for him because Vanessa asked him for his help. It was help that Kyle didn’t care for due to his dislike of cops, but Sims surprised him when he told Kyle that Cody was pit fighting in Little Italy – a complete shock despite Stiff saying that three times.
Sims further warned Kyle about a new drug going around and told Kyle not to get involved before leaving.
Visiting Little Italy
Afterwards, Kyle showed the Bible to Vanessa, still not knowing what it was for. But then a flask with a glowing green substance fell out as well as a map that lead to Little Italy. Kyle busted into Vitto’s Restaurant at Little Italy, demanding to know where Cody was.
Vitto told his men to ’escort‘ him out, prompting yet another brawl in a dining establishment that led to much destruction. Even Vitto’s angry chefs joined in the combat, but Kyle just beat them up, too. Vitto told them to stop, realizing it was going nowhere.
Kyle offered a deal where he’d pit fight for Vitto if he told him where Cody was. Vitto refused, making Kyle state that the last person between him and Cody was sent plummeting to his death. At this, Vitto perked up and said Kyle should have said that he was the one who killed the Stiff sooner. Because then Kyle would have had his gratitude, and gratitude earns respect.
Kyle wasn’t impressed, and Vitto finally told one of his fighters to escort Kyle to the basement for an “interview.” The fighter stretches before leading Kyle away, happy to oblige. The interview went well, with Kyle whooping Ghost in the ensuing pit fight.
Fortunes told
Afterwards, he repeated his demand to know where Cody was. Vitto stated that while Kyle was a good fighter, he despised his lack of respect. His other men were too afraid of Kyle by this point to kick Kyle out, so Vitto’s top assassin Blades quickly leaped in and grabbed Kyle at knifepoint.
Vitto told Blades not to kill him because they’d gotten into too much heat from all the ruckus already. Thus, Blades dumped Kyle off back at Kyle’s hood, saying that next time he’ll send a ice pick through Kyle’s head. Kyle wondered why bother waiting when they could just fight now, but Blades brushed him off and left.
Vanessa, always one to suggest random informants that Kyle doesn’t like, told Kyle to go see a psychic, Madame Celeste, for possible leads.
After a quick game of concentration disguised as some powerful occult fortune reading card set-up, Celeste told Kyle that help would come from Cody’s apartment. Kyle wondered how he’d get into Cody’s apartment, but then Celeste handed him the keys to it. He wondered how Celeste managed to get the keys to Cody’s apartment…for all of one second.
Cody’s place
Cody’s answering machine held nothing but some calls from Kyle asking where the heck Cody was. Then a call from Haggar asking the same thing and inviting Cody to go have some drinks at the bar. Kyle found half of a photo with Haggar in it along with Cody and “Pier 15” on the back, so he decided to go there.
After a quick call to 2-Ill to find out where Pier 15 was, Kyle headed to Mike’s Maritime Maintenance at Pier 15. The Punx overran the pier, but their cheap imitation Damnd whistles, light-pressing password puzzles, and randomly raining cheap imitation Rolento grenades were no match for Kyle’s head bashing skills.
Their massive numbers, on the other hand, were starting to be a problem until Haggar himself came out of his gym to lend a hand. After beating all of the thugs, Haggar told Kyle that Kyle better not cause trouble in his neighborhood, or else. Kyle didn’t notice, being too much in awe at being with THE man Mike Haggar to be afraid.
He introduced himself as Cody’s brother Kyle, whereupon Haggar smiled and said that it had been a long time since he’d seen him. He remarked that Kyle probably didn’t remember him anymore. Haggar sadly did not know anything about where Cody was. But he hoped that Cody didn’t get caught up in the new GLOW drug hitting the streets.
The GLOW connection
Contrary to what Cody might think, GLOW wouldn’t make him stronger, but will kill him. Kyle lamented that he had hit another dead end, so Haggar taught him a few moves so the night won’t be an entire waste. Finally, Kyle was ready to go try Vitto again and Haggar gave him some advice to show Vitto some respect, as that might get him a bit farther.
He also said that he still had some friends in the Metro City police and would try to get them to help.
At Vitto’s restaurant, Vitto was talking to a priest, saying that he needed some help with something but was interrupted when Kyle walked in. The priest decided to make his exit, but took a moment to look at Kyle and smile at him before he walked out. Vitto was mad, but Kyle apologized for his lack of respect earlier.
He repeated his deal of fighting for Vitto, so Vitto decided to let him have another go. At the pit fight in the basement, Kyle managed to defeat Andore. Likely thanks to the tried and true technique of running around in lots of circles for most of the time.
Vitto helps
Back at the restaurant, Vitto told Kyle that Cody fought for him and made him a bundle of money, but he had to let Cody go because Cody got hooked on GLOW. He let Kyle keep his share of the money, saying that he’d never cheat a stand-up guy like Kyle out of his fair share.
Then he apologized that he didn’t know where Cody was anymore. He further told Kyle to be careful, as going after GLOW would likely be more than he could handle. Outside, Kyle called Vanessa and said he was going to check out Bijou Hotel again, having no other leads.
At the Bijou Hotel, Kyle randomly lucked out because for whatever reason, Cody was there. Cody jumped three stories to land right in front of Kyle. He ordered Kyle to go home. His eyes were glowing green with GLOW and his voice sounded like he had been possessed by a demon from some cheesy B-Movie.
Kyle refused. He tried to persuade Cody to come with him, but was interrupted by Sgt. Sims, who told Kyle to back away from his brother as he pointed a gun at Cody. Kyle tried to stop Sims and Cody got away. Sims explained to Kyle that Cody got into a heap of trouble. He also told Kyle to stay out of things before running after Cody.
Fortunately, Sims didn’t notice that Cody had dropped his wallet. Kyle picked it up and noticed the second half of the photograph, this time with some guy in red with a tattoo.
Paco’s advice
He headed back to the hood and called 2-Ill to ask where the tattoo parlor manager Paco right be. Predictably, 2-Ill replied that Paco was at the tattoo parlor. The house inspector was coming so Kyle was forced to run around like an idiot once again stomping cockroaches in his apartment. Plus rats that apparently got hooked on GLOW but went squish just as easily as the cockroaches did.
After Kyle was done (because they lived in the same building), Paco told Kyle the tattoo in the photo was made by Lou “the Skin” in Japan Town, so Kyle headed over there.
At The Dragon’s Skin, after putting up with Lou rambling over which tattoo to give Kyle, Kyle showed Lou the photo, saying he wanted to see the man in it. Lou obliged by smashing a cash register over his head. Kyle woke up in Lou’s basement surrounded by ninjas, Lou, and the man in the photo, Guy.
Meet Guy, part 1
Lou told Guy that Kyle’s wallet said that he was Cody Travers. Guy demanded to know why Kyle was lying about whom he was, but Kyle simply told them that only cheap shots could take him down. At this, Guy told his men to show Kyle what happened to those who didn’t answer his questions.
Guy’s men untied Kyle and attempted to extract the information from Kyle. They formed a ring around him where they charged in with hit and run attacks while the rest looked for openings.
Lou eagerly jumped in to fight as well after the men were defeated, but Kyle managed to beat him, too. Frustrated, Lou encouraged Guy to kick Kyle’s ass. Guy threw off his business suit for his Bushin gi and approached Kyle.
A demonstration of some ridiculously fast katas shocked the hell out of Kyle. That made him decide that it’d probably be a good time to explain that he wasn’t Cody. He explained that he was Cody’s brother but that Cody got into a lot of trouble with GLOW and Vitto, among other things. Hearing this, Guy decided to listen and invited Kyle to his dojo.
Meet Guy, part 2
There, Guy told Kyle about his past with Cody, and about how Cody went to jail for one of Guy’s crimes so that Guy could go free. He said that from what he knew about Cody, Cody would give his life for Kyle. He regretted that Cody had to go to jail for him but that some debts could never be repaid.
After this, he decided to ’quiz‘ Kyle a bit. He tested Kyle in his dojo by teaching Kyle how to do the ki-based charge punch.
After the sparring, Kyle’s skill proved to Guy that he was indeed Cody’s brother. Guy took Kyle to the lounge area of the dojo. Around the table, he told Kyle that he was proud about how he’d managed to maintain order in Japan Town and was fighting against the drug and trying to keep it from entering the area.
However, it was proving very difficult. Guy wondered if the man behind GLOW was merely giving the people what they wanted. He told Kyle that from what he knew, the man behind GLOW was a man with no face, but that he had a strong influence in Little Italy and Guy had his men investigating it.
Stiff’s revenge
At that point, Blades burst in and tossed the head of one of Guy’s men to Guy and Kyle with dynamite strapped to it. Guy and Kyle got out of the way in time before it exploded, but the dojo they were in was now on fire. The whole building threatened to collapse on them both.
Worse, Stiff’s men had come in to help finish the job. Guy quickly led Kyle to the exit, but falling debris and flames constantly got in the way. The flames were good for tossing mobsters and angry schoolgirls into them, though… why a bunch of angry schoolgirls also decided to get in on the flaming fun is a mystery.
Regardless, thanks to the help of a fire extinguisher (oh, and Guy, too), Kyle and Guy escape just as the dojo exploded.
Kyle told Guy that Blades was one of Vitto’s men (not that Guy didn’t know that already) and that he was a fool to trust Vitto. Kyle went after Vitto, while Guy stayed behind to gather his resources, saying the war had just begun.
Kyle told him that he was glad Guy was on his side. After a call from a concerned Vanessa warning him that something nasty was going down throughout the city, Kyle left for Little Italy. Guy watched with a frown, possibly wondering if he and Kyle really were on the same side.
Gangland
Vitto wasn’t at the restaurant. One of the chefs offered to tell Kyle where he was if Kyle helped stomp out a little GLOW rat infestation of the place. Cue further running around like an idiot squishing giant green-eyed glowing rats.
The chef told Kyle that Vitto was at the church. He further remarked that it was a good thing they had dark carpets. Meanwhile Kyle made a note to himself to call the health inspector on the place as he headed over to the church.
Kyle snuck into the church to spy on Vitto. He was talking with the priest that Kyle saw earlier, Father Bella. Blades was there as well. Vitto told the priest that for all his efforts, GLOW continued to spread throughout Little Italy. Worse, people were beginning to think that he was the cause of the drug.
He told Bella that he wasn’t an angel, but that the GLOW was not his doing and he was a persecuted man. Bella tried to calm him down, and suggested a prayer. Vitto knelt down to try to pray, but this was put to a quick end when Blades slammed an ice pick through his skull.
Bella told Blades to take the body out back. He added that Blades might need him to kill Cody in case Cody became too troublesome as well. No one must stop their revelation, to which Blades solemnly nodded.
Duel with Blades
Kyle was shocked, wondering why a priest of all people would have someone killed. He realized that first of all, he had to take Blades out of the picture, and followed him out back to the graveyard. Blades was more than happy to finally have his chance to stab Kyle. But Kyle’s fighting skills (along with a submachine gun that just happened to be lying around) proved too much for him.
Outside, Kyle received a call on his cell phone from Guy, who had found Cody. Kyle said that he was on his way to Japan Town, but Guy warned him that Japan Town had changed. When Kyle shrugged this off, Guy also warned him that his brother had changed, as well.
At Lou’s tattoo parlor, Cody was tied to a chair. He was trying to break out and rambling like a mad man, his eyes were still glowing from the drug. Guy told Kyle that unless they stopped GLOW, there would soon be nothing left of the city worth saving. Kyle responded that if Guy hadn’t noticed, there wasn’t much worth saving in the city anyways.
Working leads
All Kyle cared about now was beating up the jerk who had done this to his brother. Unimpressed, Guy told him that he should start with Nicky Wissell, who was shipping in GLOW using trucks from his porn business. Kyle suddenly realized why Weasel had that Bible from Stiff. He told Guy to keep an eye on his brother while he went to find out from Weasel where the source of GLOW was.
At the warehouse, a vengeful Weasel attempted to take out Kyle by throwing grenades while Kyle took on his Blue Ballers, some of whom had become hooked on GLOW. This plan ultimately failed and Kyle was once again slamming doors on Weasel’s head (this time using the garage). Weasel told him that the GLOW producing factory was at the fish packing plant at the Pier.
Outside the warehouse, Guy called Kyle to tell him that Cody was too powerful and had escaped. The only option left was to remove the source of GLOW at the lab. Te two decided to meet at the pier. Guy told Kyle to take a shortcut through the freight trains.
The pier was overrun by riots from Punx and more GLOW heads. Kyle met up with Guy at the pier lighthouse and the two broke into the fish plant. Stiff’s goons and a bunch of GLOW butchers were waiting for them, but they were no match for the two. Guy told Kyle they should split up and he would take the stairs while Kyle took the cargo elevator.
Dr. Chang
Kyle agreed. He eventually found himself in a room with tons of boxes of GLOW as well as a conveniently placed gun turret in the center, which blew away all the GLOW boxes, GLOW heads, GLOW butchers, and Stiff’s goons quite handily.
Kyle eventually discovered a hidden passageway behind all the debris. In another section of the lab, a scientist was working on something underneath a sheet when Kyle arrived via air vent.
Kyle suspected that she was the mastermind behind GLOW, but she didn’t seem to fear him at all. The scientist didn’t even bother to answer his questions until Kyle finally grabbed her. She introduced herself to him as Dr. Chang, but said that she didn’t have time to concern herself with just one simple junkie like Kyle’s brother Cody.
This of course pissed Kyle off. So Chang told him that a lot of other people besides Cody were suffering too. She explained that Bella forced her to produce the drug and that she was not happy about it. However, she did inform him that she could detoxify Cody depending on the situation.
But Kyle was interrupted by a phone call from Guy before she could finish.
GLOW zombie
Guy told him that the explosives that he never told Kyle about earlier were primed and ready. He had get out of the lab immediately. Kyle was shocked, but Guy said that such drastic measures were necessary to stop the drug. Kyle turned around to get the doctor but then noticed her leaving in an elevator.
Before he could go after her, the being on the table ripped its sheet off and laughed at Kyle as he recognized it as the Stiff!
But only barely. Stiff had been infused with so much GLOW that he had green spikes glowing out of his back and even had GLOW glowing through him, particularly through the two letters “D” and “E” cut into his chest.
Stiff maniacally laughed before grabbing a nearby GLOW rat that was running by and devouring it, empowering him even more. A battle ensued, consisting of falling cable wires, spiky projectiles, and an enraged Stiff (now “Stiff Death”)
Kyle managed to stomp out the majority of the GLOW rats hiding in crates in the lab before Stiff could consume them and regenerate. Then he eventually managed to defeat the mutated dead. Stiff Death’s GLOW ran out, he fell to the ground and crumpled to dust. Kyle escaped from the exploding lab just in time (again).
Mike’s in
Rather beaten, he met up with Guy who told him that he didn’t see any scientist leaving the lab. Kyle promptly lost consciousness. Despite what Guy had just said, Chang was there to treat Kyle as he woke up in Haggar’s gym.
Guy pulled out a gun, demanding that she tell him where the mastermind behind GLOW was. But Haggar stopped him, saying that wasn’t how they did things. Guy argued that it was the only way they could stop GLOW. Kyle interrupted and told them both to knock it off. He then asked Chang how to reverse the effects of GLOW so he could cure Cody.
She told him that like any other drug, GLOW would wear off over time. But before she could fully detail the withdrawal symptoms, Kyle noticed a newscast on the TV. It showed his hood in complete anarchy as Metro Citizens and gang members, now driven insane by GLOW, were rioting in the streets.
Realizing that Vanessa would be in danger, Kyle headed back there. Chang decided to leave as well, telling Haggar that people were suffering and needed her help.
Home sweet home
Kyle’s hood was strewn with debris, fire, and GLOW heads, including some absolutely humongous ones. Yet he managed to fight his way to the Barfly, where he found Vanessa unconscious and the bar in flames.
More GLOW heads approached, ranting about crushing the sky and their brains being inside out and other nonsensical stuff. More and more kept coming until 2-Ill arrived in his car, running several of the GLOW heads down and shooting the rest with his pistol (but totalling his car in the process). He tossed Kyle a gun and told him that they needed to get out of there.
They couldn’t leave without Vanessa. But she had woken up, and told Kyle that she was all right, knowing he’d come.
The three were swamped amidst the rioting, but they made their way out of the hood to the safety of 2-Ill’s place. After fighting through more and more GLOW heads with Kyle’s fists, 2-Ill’s pistol, and Vanessa’s… nothing, the three could discuss their next move at 2-Ill’s hideout.
Turbulent priest, part 1
Kyle stated that he was going back to the church to go after Bella. Vanessa asked to go with him while 2-Ill refused to, which resulted in a three-way argument. Vanessa angrily referred to 2-Ill as “Two P.”, but he objected that it had been a long time ago.
Still, 2-Ill told Kyle of a shortcut to the church through the sewers that he used to use back during the Mad Gear days. Kyle arrived at the church, which was already under siege by Sgt. Sims and what few policemen Sgt. Sims had left.
After Kyle informed him that his sister Vanessa was OK and in a safe place, Sims told Kyle that he was running out of men. While he had no idea what was waiting for them in the church, but that they had to stop the person behind GLOW. He told Kyle to stay back and proceeded to storm the church with his men.
Kyle then noticed Father Bella on the rooftop armed with a grenade, declaring to God, “Thy will be done,” before dropping it.
Turbulent priest, part 2
Kyle told Sims to pull back in time to make it so the grenade wouldn’t instantly kill him and his men. But then tons o GLOW heads burst out of the church and attacked as Bella threw more grenades. In the ensuing battle, all of Sim’s men were killed, but Sim and Kyle managed to survive.
They entered the church. Bella was talking about how the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were given the power of War, Famine, Death, and Pestilence to end the earth as was foretold by the Bible. Chang was with him. She told him that what he was doing was madness.
To this, Bella responded that he was simply the instrument of God. He threatened Chang with his sword, forcing Chang to continue to work on four different subjects underneath sheets. Kyle revealed himself and demanded to know where his brother was. Father Bella responded that his brother was free of human frailty and that now Kyle had to repent or die.
Which way to the War
At this point, one of the subjects removed the sheet and looked at Kyle, recognizing him. He laughed, “Not the face!” and Kyle realized that it was Weasel. But by now Weasel was infused with GLOW and was rather ripped with “WAR” inscribed on his chest with GLOW.
He grabbed Kyle and tossed him through the windows above, before following after him, leaving Sims behind. Outside in the graveyard, Weasel War began unloading on Kyle with a huge machine gun and grenades. Kyle used the trees as cover until an opening was available and used the shotguns, pistols, and grenades conveniently lying around (for whatever reason) to return fire.
Eventually, overpowered by Kyle’s assault, Weasel War’s entire upper torso was blown up and exploded. Back inside the church, Kyle made his way to a sort of butcher room, where he heard slicing and chopping noises.
Okay, I want to talk about Famine
He peeped into the room to see a mutated lanky Blades with “FAMINE” inscribed on his chest chopping someone up. Sighing, but knowing he had to fight, Kyle entered the room and realized that Blades’s victim was Sgt. Sims!
Sims told Kyle to run before Blades hacked off his head as Kyle shouted, unable to save him in time. Using his trademark knives and new stretchy arms, Blades Famine attacked Kyle, but was eventually defeated.
Further into the church in a large pentagonal room, Kyle saw Dr. Chang sitting up in the rafters, with a huge green monstrous skeletal being underneath. Its gigantic spiky back reached almost all the way up to Chang. The scientist lamented about how she could have created so many great and wonderful things, but Bella wasted all her talents.
The doc is in
Despite this, she still had her wonderful creation and vision, Pestilence. Chang’s ranting reveals that she was actually rather loony herself. She didn’t even pay attention to Kyle when he demanded she tell him where Bella was, at least until he threatened that he’d come up there. The doctor simply scoffed at this and then ordered Pestilence to consume him.
Pestilence savagely attacked, by slooooowly walking around the room as his shell’s butt dripped GLOW onto the ground, every once in a while stopping to throw easily-dodged pieces of it at Kyle and every once in while barfing GLOW bombs in all directions.
After an excitingly slow-paced molasses battle of Kyle tossing said GLOW bombs back at the creature, his shell was blown off. He became much faster, swiping at Kyle, throwing GLOW bits at him, and ripping off entire church benches to try to slam on him. Kyle eventually overcame the beast and it melted into its own goo, but by then Dr. Chang was gone.
Confession time
Kyle finally confronted Bella on the church rooftop, who called him Cain, just like Cain and Abel in the Bible. Kyle responded that “Cain” was going to kick his ass. He once again demanded to see his brother, so Bella told him that he felt Kyle’s pain, for he used to have a brother he cared about as well.
Bella told Kyle that long ago, his own brother came to America seeking happiness, but then Cody had savagely killed him.
Kyle was stumped about this, telling Bella that Cody was a hero who did more good for the city than Bella could ever dream of. Bella brushed him off, proclaiming that his suffering led to his inspiration, which in turn would lead to Kyle’s death!
At this, he pointed to the side, and Kyle turned his head only to see his own brother, now horribly mutated from GLOW into a sort of hulk with green glowing eyes and the word “DEATH” cut into his chest. Bella proclaimed that he was going to have an eye for an eye, a brother for a brother, Cain to Abel, and now he was going to kill Cody’s brother, as well.
Fighting fraternal
Pissed, Kyle told Bella that he would be praying for his own death when Kyle was through with him. Hearing this, Bella proclaimed that his name wasn’t actually Bella. It was Belger! He was the brother of the leader of Mad Gear that Cody had killed years ago.
His prized Horseman of Death, Cody, attacked Kyle. Cody Death, completely consumed by the GLOW, was unable to listen to Kyle’s pleas about being his brother. But upon hitting Kyle, struggled with himself to stop. Kyle took advantage of this and eventually defeated his own brother, whereupon Father Belger revived him with GLOW and told him that he would be fighting at Death’s side.
Belger attempted to take Kyle out with grenades and rocket launchers while Cody Death attacked with burning GLOW flames and sheer brute force, but eventually Cody Death was taken down again. Belger then attempted to revive Cody while fighting off Kyle with a machine gun and his sword, putting him into position for Kyle’s own attacks.
Cody Death
Eventually, Cody Death finally got up and tried to kill Kyle one last time. Kyle again tried to get Cody to recognize him, but at that moment, Belger, who proclaimed that he would not allow his vengeance to be taken away from him and he would kill Kyle, shot Cody Death in the back.
He approached with his gun pointed at Kyle, but then Cody Death got up and launched himself at Belger, sending the two of them flying off the rooftop, with Kyle shouting after his brother. On the ground outside, a wounded Belger attempted to crawl to his gun, but Kyle kicked it just out of his reach.
Father Belger proclaimed that he was Kyle’s savior, but Kyle replied that he was actually nothing and shot him in the head. He then dashed to an unconscious Cody Death and said that everything would be OK. At the hospital, a beat-up Kyle and Cody were in separate hospital beds in the same room. The effects of GLOW had mostly worn off and Cody was now a normal human being again.
He and Kyle joked for a bit as if nothing had happened, but when Cody finally began to ask why Kyle went through so much trouble to help him, Kyle interrupted saying that Cody would have done the same for him and that it was for survival, so the two brothers punched their fists together in agreement.
Recovery
They wondered when their next fight would be. But Vanessa entered the room and told them to knock it off, because neither of them would be fighting for a while. Cody responded that at least now, his knees never felt better. He kicked his knees around a bit and realized something and then began to excitedly tell Kyle something before he noticed that Kyle was distracted by the television set.
On the set, a news reporter stated that Dr. Chang was taken in for questioning after the incident but was released. Cody asked Kyle what’s wrong, but Kyle quickly shook it off and responded by saying, “Nothing,” as the news reporter stated that clean up after the devastation was starting.
Vanessa said that the nightmare was finally over and it was all just a bad memory, but she stated this with sadness as she held onto her deceased brother’s badge. Kyle, perhaps realizing this, sarcastically replies, “Yea, right!” For now, Metro City was at peace again, but at a price?
Where is He Now
Probably still going around kicking butt for a living.
Description
Kyle is a good looking slightly larger than average blond guy in excellent shape. In Streetwise he wears camo pants and combat boots. He also wears an orange button shirt with black stripes open with a white T-shirt underneath.
Personality
Kyle’s a street punk and accustomed to violence, no doubt about that. But he also has a burning sense of justice and fought hard to rescue his brother and keep his girlfriend Vanessa safe.
He’s basically a two-fisted cinematic action hero in a very gritty world.
Quotes
“’Your fist is the only thing that can save you in this bullshit world.‘ These words from my brother were drilled into my headway back when we were kids. My name is Kyle Travers. I’m a streetwise underground pit fighter, resigned to making my money in the back alleys and dark basement fight clubs of Metro City, and sure that money comes in handy from time to time, but respect is really what it’s all about when it comes to survivin’ these streets. I’ve been fighting in this hood for some time now, to the point where I’ve built up a bit of ’ghetto fabulous’ rep among the local gangs and punks and I must say, lately I’ve been collecting fight money light an uptown call girl, but this development has thrown things way out of what!”
“This is who I had to rely on in this world. A lesson I had to learn the hard way – a lesson that could only be learned in Metro City. This town is going straight to hell and its taking my brother with it !”
Vanessa: “Kyle, I don’t think that this’s another dirty street fight. That guy could’ve killed you.”
Kyle: “Well yeah, he’ll be sorry he didn’t.”
