Lavagirl
Context
The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl is a 2005 children’s fantasy movie. It features Max, an unhappy little boy who dreams stories and super-heroes for solace. One day two of the super-hero kids he made up, Sharkboy and Lavagirl, impossibly show up in his life. They need his urgent help to save their imaginary world, Planet Drool.
The scenario was partially invented by kids, and the movie very much as child’s perspective. However, the theatre release used an early, mediocre 3D format that resulted in poor critics.
Lavagirl was played by Taylor Dooley .

Powers & Abilities
Lavagirl is made of lava. She projects lava from her hands and this attack is used most often. She has shown herself capable of many “tricks” with her ability.
She can change to a liquid state and move about in that form, even turning her head 360 degrees.
Lavagirl can pull a Tony Stark and blast off by firing her flame project power from both her hands and feet. This will launch her a short distance and was used in the movie when she was surrounded.
If her emotions take over she will erupt in flames.

History
The first time we see her, Lavagirl arrives on Earth at Max’s parent’s home to get help from Sharkboy. The two left immediately traveling to Planet Drool, for a great crisis was developing there.
One night, Sharkboy and Lavagirl re-appeared in Max’s house and ate the cookies his mother had made. The next day at school a mysterious storm came and Sharkboy and Lavagirl crashed through a window into Max’s 4th grade classroom to request his help.
Sharkboy and Lavagirl didn’t come to Earth to save Max; they instead need Max to save Planet Drool, the planet so cool you’ll drool. Max is the one who created it all through his dreams. When Max began to put away his dreams as childhood fantasies Planet Drool became dark and began to die.
Saving the world
The trio had to travel through a landscape of Max’s mind to reach the dream lair. Sharkboy and Lavagirl saved some children from an out-of-control roller coaster and then they confronted Mr. Electric, who quickly dropped them in a part of Planet Drool called the Dream Graveyard where some of Max’s dreams had been dumped.
They found Tobor, a robot toy that was never finished. Tobor offered them a lift to other parts of the planet.
They were pursued by Mr. Electric and his “plughounds”. Max, Sharkboy, and Lavagirl planned to visit the Ice Princess and obtain her Crystal Heart which can freeze time, giving them enough time to get to the center of Planet Drool and fix the dreamworld.
However, they were captured by Mr. Electric and delivered to Linus, Max’s rival, or his Planet Drool incarnation Minus.
Minus had altered the dreamworld with Max’s own Dream Journal. Max retrieved the Dream Journal whilst Minus was sleeping, and the three escaped. Max read from his journal and informed Sharkboy that his father was still alive. When Lavagirl wished to find out what it said about her, she accidentally burned the journal to ash.
With little time left until the dreamworld was completely corrupt, Max, Sharkboy and Lavagirl reached the Ice Princess. She handed over her Crystal Heart but they were too late to stop the corruption. Mr. Electric fooled Sharkboy into jumping into water filled with electric eels, knocking him unconscious.
Lavagirl heroically jumped into the water to rescue Sharkboy, saving him but extinguishing herself in the process.
I will reignite
Tobor’s head appears and convinced Max to dream a better and unselfish dream, which in turn revives Sharkboy who then races Lavagirl to a volcano where she is also revived, Max concludes that Lavagirl is light.
Max, dreaming with his eyes open battled Minus, defeating him, then surprisingly offered to make a better dreamworld with Minus’ help. Minus agreed to the new world.
Mr. Electric refused to accept the new dreamworld, and flew off to Earth to kill Max whilst he was dreaming. Max awakened back in his classroom in the middle of a storm, Mr. Electric materialized before Max and an astonished Mr. Electricidad. Max’s parents were caught up in the storm but were saved by Sharkboy and Lavagirl.
Max gave the Crystal Heart to Marissa, allowing her to gain the Ice Princess’ powers. She froze and destroyed Mr. Electric. Mr. Electricidad, Linus and Max all made peace with one another, and Max was reunited with his parents.
Description
Lavagirl was described as an amazing girl with purple flames for hair and skin of molten lava rock. However, she appeared to have pink hair with wisps of smoke rising off of her.
Her outfit is also pink and red with lines of glowing molten lava running over her. She wears darker pink bracers on her forearms.
Personality
Lavagirl is a good person and wants to help. She’s a compassionate hero who leaps to the rescue of those in danger.
Lavagirl knows she’s made of lava and often accidentally burns things around her. She’s actually pretty well adjusted to it, often shrugging it off. She’s quick to say sorry if her flame powers cause others to be hurt (except maybe Sharkboy who is always temperamental).
Her past is a mystery even to her. It’s as if Max created her for her cool devastating lava powers but didn’t give much thought past that.
DCU History
Lavagirl is a manifestation of Max’s dreams. She could be met within the Dreaming.
Alternately, a GM could separate her from Max completely introducing her as a generic teen hero.
Quotes
(Speaking to Sharkboy with Max standing by)
Lavagirl: “Max is a good boy, otherwise you and I would be evil and we’re not evil.” (then a little uncertain) “I’m not evil, am I Max ?”
Max: “I… I don’t think so.”
“We just have to stay positive; it’s not the end of the world.”
“Feel the burn.”
Lavagirl: “Tell me something about myself. I’m clueless.”
Tobor the robot oracle: “Actually, you are extremely bright.”
“Dream about me next Max. I need to know who I am.”
“My dream is to live on Earth but someplace warm and that Earth will accept me even if I destroy everything I touch !”
“Why did you make me out of lava Max ?”
“Why did you make us a team ? When I’m near water I fizzle out. When he’s near heat he shrivels. We’re not compatible !”
(Sharkboy is knocked unconscious and sinks to the bottom of the sea)
Lavagirl: “He’ll drown if I don’t go get him.”
Max: “I can’t let you go. You’ll die too.”
Lavagirl: “He’s my best friend.”
