Powers and Abilities

Manitou is a *very* skilled woman. She was a successful Vigilante villain for some years before she gained her powers.

She does not hesitate to use violence to accomplish her goals, this primarily involves vandalism of corporation property. However, she has also killed high level executives of particularly polluting companies. This included a unsuccessful attempt on the life of Lex Luthor.

She knows little of how she gained her powers. They are a result of an alien abduction. Who the aliens were, how they granted (triggered ?) her powers, and why they gave her these powers is, at this time, a mystery.


Overview

She will only be involved if there is an eco tie in of some sort. She has done some mundane bank robberies to fund the movements that she supports though.

If encountering metahuman opposition, she will first attempt to use a Mind Blast arrow on any obvious bricks. She has found they tend to go down fairly easily this way. She will then attempt to neutralize movement powers, to facilitate the getaway.

It is entirely possible that she would even team up with heroes, to accomplish some specific goal.

Personality

She is not a total ecofreak, to the extreme. She is not against hunting, but is a firm believer that you eat what you kill, and you don’t kill more than you can eat. Sport hunting is not right, and she has been known to make hunters dress out large animal bodies and carry the meat out over miles of rough terrain, when they were really only after the head.

This tolerance extends to supernatural creatures that prey on humans. She has let a number of werewolves and vampires live, that did not kill humans beyond what they needed. She has also killed a number that killed but did not feed.

She routinely confronts people involved in clear cutting, and destroys their equipment. She will also destroy houses, buildings or roads that are interfering with nature.

Other traits

She laughs a lot, but is quick to anger. She does value human life, and has been caught on more than one occasion because she stopped to save a bystander. She is a killer though, and if someone does enough damage to the environment, she will kill them.

She takes her name from the Manitou, or the Native American “fey”. These were various tricksters and nature spirits, who were also the guardians of the wild. While not a Native American, she is very much aware of their mythologies and cultures.


Description

She is tall for a woman, with long black hair that reaches to mid back.

Her outfit is a very dark green – all of it. There is no color variation. She wears very high moccasin boots, that reach all the way to mid thigh. Her mask covers all of her head except the bottom part of her face, and her ears. She wears long lace up gloves, that extend a couple of inches above the elbow. The overlaps the sleeves of her green jerkin.

  • Manitou suffers from a mental block of her own (unconscious) creation, relating to her mental powers. They have a range of touch, unless she focuses them through a bow. Then they can be launched like an arrow, using her Weaponry skill of 9, against the opponents Dex.
    The EV targets the victims mind, same as normal. Thus against an opponent who has Dex 07, Int 04, Mind 06, the Mind blast would go 9/10 against 7/6. The range is the same as for her Bow. To neutralize the same opponents 14 APs of flight, the OV/RV would be 7/14.
    She does not fire a physical arrow when using her powers, however, an arrow can be physically seen, and acts exactly like a physical arrow would (is effected by winds, etc) This arrow is translucent, and has a distinct shimmer (it is obviously unworldly).
