Context

This Eternian Animals File is a bestiary of some of the creatures encountered on the planet Eternia.

Many were summoned or commanded by the likes of Beast-Man and Mer-Man.

For an introduction to the world – see our “base camp” Masters of the Universe article.

Overview

The world of Eternia is a diverse setting with plenty of animal life. Some of the fauna encountered look and act exactly as they do on Earth.

Some may be oddities, but stats for similar real-life animals are sufficient. Examples of this are:

  • Bush-tail – A sentient humanoid squirrel.
  • Chimperillas – combining the names chimpanzee with gorilla. Still, they are only purple monkeys (or rather monapes, I guess — ed.).
  • Grazzler is very much like a grizzly bear.
  • Saber-Cat is simply a sabre-toothed tiger.
  • Swamp-Hopper – A jackrabbit that lives in the swamp.

Still other creatures are mentioned but never shown. Like the dragon-whale.

Eternia is home to alligators, a variety of snakes, elephants, and rhinoceros. There also are variations, like elephants with twisted or extra tusks. Or a dog with insect antennas.

Giant-sized versions of animals are also found in Eternia.

Mythical creatures are very real. The pegasus is identical to the legendary one.

There is only one unicorn left in all Eternia. It lives in the Whispering Valley, protected by the Solani — a race of pixies. Unlike their Etherian equivalent, Eternian unicorns have no wings.
