Muck the Unknownable (Wonder Woman enemy) (DC Comics) vs. Black Canary

Muck the Unknowable

Muck appeared but once, during a 2009 Wonder Woman story arc. But he struck us as a handy opponent you could use practically anywhere, so stats seemed warranted.

  • Real Name: Unrevealed.
  • Marital Status: Unrevealed.
  • Known Relatives: None.
  • Group Affiliation: Former contractor for Roulette’s clandestine arenas.
  • Base Of Operations: Formerly an arena hidden in the Ueno district, Tōkyō.
  • Height: 5’7” Weight: 150 lbs.
  • Eyes: Blue Hair: White

Powers and Abilities

Muck’s entire body has the consistency of goo. Therefore :

  • He’s very hard to hurt.
  • He can trap fists and feet hitting him in his body.
  • He can smother his opponents with his “flesh”.

Muck’s body isn’t an homogeneous mud, however. There’s at least one organ floating in there, the equivalent of a heart. It seems that the odds of hitting a vital spot with attacks are low. But a determined opponent can rummage in Muck’s body until they find something more tangible than the rest.

When encountered Muck was a champion superhuman gladiator. Yet, much of his fighting ability comes from his body composition.

Muck was encountered as a gladiator in a clandestine superhuman arena operated by Roulette in Tōkyō. He was often paired with Lira, a lifelike android, as a popular and undefeated tag team. In 2009 this team was pitted against two newcomers, the Orphan Sisters.

The Sisters were actually Wonder Woman and Black Canary operating undercover.

Muck vs. Black Canary

Muck initially overpowered Black Canary, who did not use her cry so as not to break cover. However she plunged her hands into his body, flailing for a weak spot until she found something she assumed was his heart. Muck was forced to surrender.

He hasn’t been seen since.

See illustrations.

A folksy, cruel bully who makes crass remarks about his opponents as trash talk.

Muck treats matches like a game since he normally can’t be hurt, and likes to rub his opponent’s nose into his invulnerability. Sometimes literally.

“Ooo, you’re a purty one. I like the purty ones ! I like to make them not so purty !”

Black Canary: “You’re repulsive !”
Muck: “What ? Me ? You should see me naked, darling !”

(Smothering Black Canary’s face) “Got yer nose ! Ha hahaha ha ha !”

Muck turns out to be a munchkin as well as a creepy bully – almost all his assets are out-of-PL-computation ones (Immunities, Insubstantial, grabbing Advantages). His PL, even averaged, is thus deceptive. The threat he poses depends directly of how good his opponents are at coming up with plans that negate his assets.
