Powers and Abilities

Piledriver is a super-strong man with large hands, about the size of the head of a sledgehammer. He uses them as such, and can also clap his cupped hands once to emit a dangerous shockwave.

He’s also a superior brawler. Here again his enlarged, tough hands are an asset.

History

Brian Calusky is a former farmhand.

He was granted superhuman power by the Wrecker and became part of the four-men team of demolition and villainy known as the Wrecking Crew.

Description

A huge, muscular man clad in a red and white costume, with blue boots and a blue belt.

He’s often portrayed with a thick working class New York accent and diction – perhaps Queens.

Personality

As an amateur boxer and brawling enthusiast, Calusky had a few too many knocks to the head even before a life of super-villainy beckoned. He has the dubious distinction of being the thickest member of the Wrecking Crew.

Were he even to consider having a strategy, it would be 1) Find someone to hit and 2) Start hitting.

More recently, Calusky was characterized as a movie buff. But he only likes and knows about terrible, recent “bro movies”. Bad, direct-to-DVD horror and action fare. His chit-chat about the movies he saw tends to get on the others’ nerves.

He *has* seen a few classics, though, and is very proud of that. He’ll try to fit some into wanna-be-brainy references.

Quotes

“You know, I saw this teen-slasher movie once where the killer popped a guy’s head off with an axe… Blood shootin’ out like a geyser, man. It was awesome.”

“Youse is jivin’ me, buster. Youse is only one super-hero, an’ a skinny one at that ! How’s youse gonna hurt Piledriver, huh !”

DC Universe History

They’re just a bunch of bruisers…

In the DCU, their creator could be the Lord of Chaos known as the Child.
