Pinky the Whiz Kid
Context
Pinky was the bland sidekick of Mr. Scarlet, a forgotten 1940s super-hero. Reading the Mister Scarlet character profile before Pinky’s is thus recommended.

History
I’m not sure where the appellation “Whiz Kid” came from. It did not appear in the two Golden Age stories that I have, but it does appear in the JLA/JSA/Earth-S crossover. I kinda like it, since it helps to differentiate between Pinky the kid and Pinky the mouse.
In Post-Crisis continuity, Pinky grows up to replace Mr. Scarlet. Mr. Scarlet II almost certainly has identical stats to Mr. Scarlet I.
Pinky seems to be a hero like Bucky, whose superhero name is the same as his real name (D’oh !). People refer to Pinky as Pinky no matter whether he’s in costume or not. Pinky *has* to be a nickname, but I don’t know what his real name is.
Description
His costume is scarlet (not pink) with a yellow cape, and looks much like Mr. Scarlet’s. The only difference being his mask, which does not cover his hair. Like the Atom in his Sword of the Atom costume. Pinky also lacks Mr. Scarlet’s utility belt and gun.
This design was later changed to a blue mask, blue cape (with yellow interior), and yellow boots. He also gains a utility belt.

He’s a typical wise-cracking sidekick.
