Sagrado
Context
This character is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.
Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event.
This specific character was part of a RPG campaign run by writeups.org contributor Kal El, set in Barcelona.

Powers and Abilities
Sagrado has trained himself into any and every area he’s found important for his mission. That includes:
- Survival.
- Stealth.
- First aid.
- Weaponry.
- Engineering.
- Explosives.
- Chemistry.
- Melee combat.
- All kind of vehicle driving, up to and including the ESA space shuttle.
He has trained both his body and his mind to crazy levels; He likely underwent severe torture and experimental steroid testing. His strength and his physical resistance to damage are considered inhuman by many. It’s his fierce hatred and fanatical determination working to always push him further and further.
His contempt towards magic is so intense that it manifests as an anti-magic area around him. It’s not impossible for magic to exist in that space, but its effects are greatly reduced. Targeted rituals become specially hindered, with both the RV of the spell and the target affected.

History
Francisco was born in 1964, in a family of diehard Franco supporters and devoted catholic believers. He grew up to discover that everything he believed, all the values, the sacred values he had been raised by, were not only considered outdated by society, but backwards.
When in 1982 the socialists won the Parliament, young Francisco fled the country, with the support of his family. He was determined to some day return and to bring back the glory of Franco’s regime.
He joined the Legion, learned all he could from them and later from other right wing extremist groups around Europe. But he didn’t return Spain until six years later, having met former cardinal Isaiah Curwen (Silver Dagger). Francisco was now a focused man, not only a nationalist, but a man with unshakeable faith devoted to re-ignite the fires of the Inquisition.
He now went by Sagrado.
Sacred
For some time he wandered the north east of Spain. Galicia and the Basque Country were said to hold the highest number of witches of the country. But that was in vain. It was in Catalonia where he found a daughter of Satan. An innocent young girl, Reboombori and her magic wand Espieta (’Little spy‘) soon suffered Sagrado’s merciless chase.
Super-hero team the Patrulla Barna helped Reboombori build a new identity. But she had to abandon superheroics out of fear that her family would be targeted by Sagrado.
His next objective was El Martell (The Hammer). Sagrado discovered that this nationalist terrorist organization was just one man. Sagrado caught him after a carefully planned operation. Silver Dagger advised him to let the prisoner go as there was no magic in him.
However, Sagrado’s other obsessions took hold on him. He launched a campaign of terrorist attacks in Barcelona using El Martell’s name.
He wrecked Catalan symbols unless his impossible demands of “independence in three hours” were met. The Colombus statue, the Catalonia National Art Gallery, the Music Palace, the Camp Nou Stadium, Hotel Arts and the Generalitat Palace were thus targeted.
That was the first time he clashed with the mistrusted superhero team Supernova. That they handily stopped him, and that one of their own (La Fuente) was magical made Sagrado swear to destroy them.
Description
Francisco is a medium height, broad shouldered man in his middle 40’s. He looks quite impressive without even saying a word. His obsessions flow around him as an almost physical aura.
His silver armor is made of an special alloy stolen to S.T.A.R. Labs (steel laced with Khund spaceship plates). It includes:
- Wrist mounted rifles.
- Life support and biohazard protection in the helmet and near the heart.
- A rocket pack integrated on the back.
It’s fashioned after the shape of a templar full plate, including a large shield.
Sagrado tries to rob his targets of their gear (spoils of victory). But he gives any clearly magical one to his master Silver Dagger. He also has a couple of rich or engineering-trained contacts in the right-wing organizations he belongs that periodically fit him with multipurpose devices to keep on with his fight.
Personality
Cruel, daring and somber Spanish fascist. Think the commander in Pan’s Labyrinth with a super armor.
He despises the people he lives among, and thinks they should be thrown into submission, their language forbidden and their traditions obliterated.
In the last year he feels he’s reaching the point his physique will soon decline. Therefore, he feels desperate to do as much as he can to uphold his ideals.
He always feels he’s doing the right thing and that heaven awaits his efforts.
