Shadowcat of the X-Men (Kitty Pryde) (Marvel Comics) with Lockheed wrapped around her neck

Shadowcat – older notes

See the “older” and the “notes” in the title ? So, yeah. It was done a long time ago, from memory, without proper research. I think it describes Kitty in the middle of the original Excalibur series’ run.

It is being slowly replaced by much higher quality chronological profiles for Kitty Pryde. I ain’t sure why we keep this old thing around. People find the meshuguest things useful.

  • Real Name: Katherine “Kitty” Pryde.
  • Former Aliases: Ariel, Sprite.
  • Marital Status: Single.
  • Known Relatives: Carmen Pryde (father, deceased), Theresa “Terri” Pryde (mother), Samuel Prydeman (grandfather, deceased), Chava Rosanoff (great-aunt, deceased).
  • Group Affiliation: (current) Excalibur, (formerly) X-Men, S.H.I.E.L.D., New Mutants.
  • Base Of Operations: Muir Island off the coast of Scotland, (former) Exalibur’s lighthouse off the coast of Britain, Professor Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, Salem Center, Westchester County, New York; Moira MacTaggert’s Mutant Research Center, Muir Island, Scotland.
  • Height: 5’6” Weight: 110lbs.
  • Eyes: Hazel Hair: Brown

“Typical. Bad guys always have the edge on us. Like it’s a rule or something.”

  • Air walking is only active while Dispersed (-1).
  • Claws and Sharpness (Claws) are Contingent on Dispersal ; Claws is Serious Marginal unless Shadowcat is using an Object of Opportunity.
  • Dispersal is kinda Usable on Others (+4) (Kitty can render everything/one she touches intangible and stay intangible herself, but this is restricted to physical contact and 7 APs of weight).
  • Dispersal does not suspend her need to breath (-0).
  • EMP is Contingent on Dispersal, Always On and has No Range – she disrupts any electronics she passes through.

It has once been showed that Kitty has a nunchaku wrapped around the shoulder of her costume, an idea I’m fond of [BODY 08, EV 04 (07 w/Martial Artist), Insta-Change].

Ariel prospering

Katherine usually has HPs out of proportion with her age (barring other exceptional cases such as Dick Grayson or Tim Drake). During her early career she has 035 HPs, and when she becomes Shadowcat she has about 050. She reaches 070 at about the beginning of the Excalibur run.
