Context

This character is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.

Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event.

Powers and Abilities

Solar is the evil side of DarkSun, who manifests only during eclipses. He can’t turn off his higher density, unlike his Alter Ego. Therefore he’s super-strong, durable and heavy all the time.

He can absorb damage and turn it into energy that boosts his speed of movement and thought, his mass, and his already impressive superheated blast. With enough absorption he can become dangerous even to Superman-level bricks .

He can also detect weak spots on an enemy’s combat position, making his own attacks devastating.

A side effect of his enhanced reaction time is that he is now much more easily affected by electrical streams. And is even more sensible than DarkSun to the neutralizing effects of obsidian.

His twisted mind, and the shielding that DarkSun offers, make him very hard to control or detect by psionic  means.


History

Solar appeared short after the South Sindromedan now called DarkSun discovered his powers. Gifted with enormous might but also with the knowledge that he was only one half of a being, Solar became enraged and started destroying the mountain he was at.

Suddenly he stopped, as thought came to his mind. If he could but turn his other, “good” side to his own views of people and the universe (a place to be toyed with, used and destroyed at they mere whim), they would again become one, to Solar’s eyes, and he would be happy again.

He awakened again some years later, on Earth. He knew at the same moment that DarkSun feared him so much that he had fled of his home planet and, there, to the rain forest, to save everybody from Solar’s touch.

Solar would teach him a lesson. He used what little time he had (the duration of the eclipse) to slaughter a local tribe. Solar then left a message to his other side carved by fire in giant Sindromedan letters on the side of a mountain: “I know you. I hate you. I’ll destroy all you love. See you soon, Solar”.

Solar is making plans in the back of the head of DarkSun. He knows most of what his other side knows, specially that which emotionally affects him, and will take good use of it on every occasion he gets.


Description

Solar looks exactly the same than DarkSun: a very tanned Brazilian with loose light trousers and a white shirt, usually open. He’s wiry, flexible and can act like he has his alter ego sad look in his eyes.

But when he decides to throw up his mask he shows madness, ferocity and utter joy of all the havoc and mischief he puts into DarkSun’s life.


Personality

Solar is a psychopath whose only joy is to make DarkSun’s life miserable. He usually has little time to act, for eclipses don’t leave much time for preparing elaborate plans, but he has learned to be patient, and if the occasion so allows it, and if he found a way to spend more time out, he could build up complex schemes to bring more chaos to his other self.
