This character is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.

Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event.

This specific character was part of a RPG campaign run by contributor Kal El, set in Barcelona.

Powers and Abilities

Sorcerer knows what you think. Sorcerer knows what you know (in DC Heroes RPG terms, Mind Probe). Sorcerer also knows how to wield the magical energies that flow all around the cosmos and the dimensions  to his own will. Both in the raw, direct, taxing way (Sorcery) and the academic, experimental and more mundane way (Occultist).

Sorcerer has a staff, that he can use as meditative focus when creating a magical item (Workshop advantage).


Sorcerer was born at planet Brztal, a world of magic and sorcery. And he would have been one of the best sorcerers on that world. But he was banished when he was 16 by a triad of witches. They thought that such a bragging and power hungry boy could be dangerous.

The witches wanted him not to be able to return to the planet. So they erased from his mind everything he knew about the planet, even including its location, and his own true name.


Even before the former high priest of Brztal, Kulak, was entombed on Earth by The Spectre, it is now a planet of myth. Many legends talk about the lost planet of Brztal, about its mysteries and the ancient and mighty artifacts that lay there.

But nobody knows where the planet is. Sorcerer has devoted his life to find it. He doesn’t want to rule it, but to return, to spit over the witches’ tombs (whose names he can’t remember), and to laugh at their pathetic attempt to keep him away.

To that extent he likes to study the magical creatures he captures. They could know of Brztal, or help him find the lost planet. After Kulaks vanishing, Brztal is under an invisibility shield, orbiting on the opposite side of Planet Z.

A fortune teller told Sorcerer “help the power and the power will bring you closer than ever to your homeland”. And so did Sorcerer : he joined the woman called Power and helped her find the team she needed to form the Council, at Planet Z. Sorcerer is still unaware that he’s now at the same solar system than Brztal.



Sorcerer is a tall, well-built humanoid, specially for his age. He could still snap a man’s neck with his bare hands if it was needed.

He wears a version of the Council’s dark grey suit tight in the upper side and like a robe from the waist down and in the sleeves.

The nine dots of his number in the council are shaped into a rhombus (1-2-3-2-1).


Wizards don’t use to be talkative, and Sorcerer is not an exception, but he can be quite sarcastic, ironic and darkly humorous when he’s offended.

On the battlefield, Sorcerer is not a solo player. He uses his magic to improve his side’s chances (Enchantment, Dumb Luck, Weather Control, Telepathic link, animations…) or worsen the enemy’s ones (Matter Manipulation, Transmutation, Diminution) instead of simply wiping them with energy blasts or disintegrations (or even magic blasts).

DC Universe History

Planet Brztal is real in the DC Universe, as it’s its entombed leader Kulak, and it’s true that it’s a lost planet of magic. It’s location and invisibility, on the other hand, are a homemade plot.

Sorcerer’s Staff [BODY 06, EV 02, R#05, HP Cost: 26 ; Misc. Advantage: the Staff works like an 11 APs Workshop. Components are still needed]. Yes, the staff has a R#, that applies on the EV. This is because, due to its magical attunement, the staff slowly changes its looks every day. So, some days it can look like a thin staff not good enough to hit with it, although most of the time it can be used as a mace.
