Context

This character is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.

Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event.

This specific character was part of a RPG campaign run by writeups.org contributor Bil.

Powers and Abilities

Strongarm is one of the most physically powerful men alive, and is incredibly tough.

In addition to his physical power, he can grow slightly upwards, but mostly out, to a massive build at just over seven feet tall.

In either state, he is strong enough to leap half a mile, and has such incredible lung capacity that he can even bowl over small cars.

History

John Grant was a professional bodybuilder. He moved to Memphis after he realized he couldn’t compete with many of his competitors, who were using all sorts of hormonal concoctions to get big. Frustrated, he grabbed his free weights, and screamed, “Why can’t I get bigger?”

Seconds later, he was over seven feet tall, and holding the weights easily in one hand. He then shrank instinctively, and realized he was still super-strong.

He has been a member of the Alliance since its inception, and has never left. He is the team’s powerhouse, and is almost as strong as Powerhouse, himself, when at full size.

Description

The largest member of the Alliance, he usually wears shorts and a tank-top. The shorts are dimensionally transcendental fabric, so that they don’t tear when he increases in size, and the tank top is extremely loose.

Personality

Confident and bold. He knows he’s one of the least educated members of the Alliance, but doesn’t care. He’s the muscle, and does his job well.

When they need the big guns, he ’bulks up‘, and unleashes haymakers that can plaster an opponent like a freight train at full speed.

DC Universe History

It may be just me, but Strongarm could be used to fill the place of a generic brick , something DC has few of.
