Powers and Abilities
Jonothan has the full range of Kryptonian abilities he inherited from his father.
Perhaps because he is also partly Human, and thus with a greater affinity for Earth’s solar radiation, he began to develop his powers much earlier than Clark did. On the other hand, he has nowhere near Clark’s experience using them.
History
Jonothan Kent is the only child of Superman and his long-time romantic interest, Lois Lane.
Born in the early 21st century, Jonothan was raised as normally as was possible. Lois retired to the Kent family farm in semi-rural Kansas, where she and Jon would be out of harm’s way while Clark maintained a presence in Metropolis. He kept up a pretense that he lived in that area.

Jonothan began to develop Kryptonian powers as a preteen. With sufficient education from Clark, he developed these slowly and with a great degree of control. Clark and Lois did not want their son to be thought of as abnormal while growing up, although Clark assumed that he would follow in his footsteps eventually.
Lois was opposed to the idea, and did everything she could to dissuade Jon from risking his life.
Up and away
But eventually realized that Jon’s sense of Responsibility, drilled into him by his father, was too strong to let him sit by. Thus, she contacted some of Clark’s old Connections such as Batman (then Dick Grayson) and Martian Manhunter to better prepare Jon for the life he was to lead.
Jonothan got his chance when Superman abruptly disappeared during the mid 21st century. Then a new Lex Luthor, the robotic Lexor 9, started making trouble in the world. Jonothan made up his mind to find out what happened. He took up his father’s cape (figuratively) to become the new Superman.
His first solo run as Superman brought him head to head with Batman Beyond. After some teenaged head-butting, they have developed a cautious friendship.
Description
Jon wears a traditional skintight super-hero outfit based on his father’s superman suit. But it has a more modern styling and no cape.
Personality
Superman Beyond is a country mouse. The city both frightens and fascinates him, and he is way over his head when it comes to heroing.
The training he received helps, but it’s mostly theory. Still and all; he’s got a better head-start than his father did. Training by Dick Grayson (who was acting as Batman at the time) has sharpened his fighting edge. He has more ability to use and apply his strength than his father started out with.
He also has a real talent for detective work. Apparently, that comes from his mother.
What really drives Jon is his sense of Rrsponsibility. He knew someday he would be out there like Superman; he just did n’t know it would be *as* Superman, and it scares the hell out of him. He is driven to find out what happened to his father, and may seem a little reckless and impulsive when following up a lead.
