Superstar

Context

We have a small cluster of original character profiles themed after pop/rock songs — it’s the Homemade >> Rockworld category in the breadcrumbs. These were little creative exercises, many years back.

Among this lot there’s a collection of characters based on Styx  songs, such as Superstar.

Powers and Abilities

Superstar has the “power of a man-sized sun” at his disposal. He is capable of creating intense heat, light, gravitational pulses, etc. He can fly and has limited superhuman strength.

History

Sebastion Walker is the son of the man who became Dr. Righteous. He has been raised to serve in his father’s regime. He also has been groomed to take over the Presidency of the United States when the current President has used up his usefulness.

However, Righteous made a serious error when he ordered the boy’s mother to provide for his education. Fearful of her husband, she sent her son to some of the finest teachers around the world and provided him with a superlative education. He studied everything from history to physics, and the latter became his passion.

He later refined his love of sciences to aeronautics and space travel.

When his father thought he was old enough he was introduced to the “family business”. Sebastion was appalled. He hid it well, all the while making arrangements for his mother to escape to Europe. Dr. Righteous never suspected his wife whom he considered weak willed and stupid. Or his son, whom he simply assumed would be loyal of plotting against him.

Sebastion was accidentally given superhuman powers during a botched experiment Righteous had him in charge of. He decided to throw down the gauntlet and challenge his father. This turned out to be a less than ideal tactic as Dr. Righteous has power of his own and several flunkies of metahuman nature.

Sebastion would have been slain if the Lords if the Ring had not appeared. Rescued from certain doom, he joined with the freedom fighters. He now travels the globe trying to break the hold of Dr. Righteous.

Description

Sebastion is a handsome fellow with long blond hair and blue eyes. He has classically handsome “pretty boy” looks and a trim, athletic build.

He wears a skin tight superhero costume in white with a gold star on his chest and a red cape. His gloves, boots, belt and clasps for his cape are all gold.

Personality

JY is quite upset at his father, he knows the dirty secrets about Dr. Righteous, and works tirelessly with the other Lords of the Ring to bring an end to his father’s manipulations of the American people.

He is a noble and likeable man with a good sense of humor and more than just a little confidence. He gets a kick out of playing the larger than life superhero.

DC Universe History

Well, it would have to be an Elseworlds  story. It might be possible to put them in the 30^th century with the Legion but Rockworld’s history and governments are much more bleak and oppressive.

Superstar could simply be a new hero in the DC universe if you wanted to throw him and his father in.
