Alliance

Power Level:
Game system: DC Heroes Role-Playing Game

Context

This organisation is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.

Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event.

This specific team was part of a RPG campaign run by writeups.org contributor Bil.

Overview

The Alliance is a mobile strike force, able to reach any point in the country within hours, thanks to their mobile base.

History

The Alliance was formed in 1992, in Memphis, Tennessee, as that city’s resident hero team. The founders were Black Lion, Quarterstaff, Champion, Strongarm, Snowblind, Springer, Shadowgreen, and Tracker.

Although Black Lion and Champion left in 1993, the rest of the team stayed together until 1996. That year, a schism between Shadowgreen, Tracker, and the rest of the team prompted them to break up, much to the dismay of Springer.

He designed the team’s new mobile base, and contacted the various team members. Tracker flatly refused, but the rest accepted his offer, with Quarterstaff as team leader. Jackhammer joined the group in 1997, the same year Snowblind took over as leader when Quarterstaff took a leave of absence.

Equipment

The only common equipment for the members of the Alliance is their mobile base.

ALLIANCE MOBILE BASE [STR 17 BODY 19, Flash: 08 (Spotlights), Flight: 12, Radar Sense: 18, Radio Communication (scrambled): 18, Sealed Systems*: 19, Limitation: Flight cannot Substitute for OV, HP Cost: 1158].

It looks like a giant wedge, something like a huge, non-stealthy “stealth fighter”. it is capable of hovering, or reaching speeds of up to Mach Four. It has no onboard weaponry, but with the members of the Alliance, it doesn’t need it.
