Powers and Abilities

The Master is technically not a metahuman , but is the result of lifelong training in the martial arts. His body’s chi  is flowing to its ultimate possible, increasing his agility and reflexes to mildly superhuman levels, and his strength to levels that are mildly superhuman for his height and weight.

His aging rate has slowed dramatically, and he has survived extensive injuries that should have killed him.

Only those whose ability in the martial arts are due to superhuman powers surpass his skill. He is also a skilled gymnast, weapons master, and detective, with additional skills picked up throughout his entire lifetime.

History

The Master fled China with his wife after the Tienanmen Square riots. He arrived in San Francisco in 1993. His young, second wife was assaulted by members of the local gangs, but Mao Lung took care of then.

Since then, he has been the guardian of Chinatown, and its foremost teacher.

Description

A small Asian man, usually wearing Chinese exercise clothing. He appears 30, but there is evidence he is much, much older.

Personality

The Master is a cross between Caine, from Kung Fu, and the old blind master that was his teacher. He is ready to give a cryptic phrase of advice, or a humorous Zen koan to set things right.

He frequently laughs, unless he is in conflict with a dangerous foe.

He will use drunken style to seem harmless if in conflict with unskilled opponents, but will use whatever style is needed for a given opponent.

DC Universe History

Yet another martial arts master ? I don’t know if DC can stand it… wait, he’s got a sense of humor ? Okay, maybe he might find a niche…
