Context

This character is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.

Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event.

Background

  • Real Name: Gregory Ware.

History

Greg Ware was a graduate student in Classics and Archaeology at the Ohio State University  in 1946 when he went on a fateful trip to Greece. As his dissertation he sets out to locate the labyrinth of legend.

According to Ware he succeeded, but remained trapped there for five days. When he emerged, half starved and almost delirious, he had taken on the form of the minotaur from mythology. Ware found himself stuck in that form. Despite several attempts to re-locate the entrance to the labyrinth he was never able to do so.

After a period he returned home. In 1948 became the only recruit for the Columbus Crusaders. In 1953 he was killed in a battle with the henchmen of “The Red Menace”.

Description

He was a minotaur ! Eight feet of hairy bipedal bullness. He wore a dark brown bodysuit that matched his fur and big heavy boots.

The horns on his head had a span of about three and a half feet, which, when combined with his size, made many situations (such as riding in cars) uncomfortable.

Personality

He always considered his large form and odd appearance to be a curse and continually sought to find a way to become human again.
