
Generic Transbelvan mafia agent
Context
These guys mostly appeared in Chuck Dixon-penned DC Comics circa during the early 2000s. If you need fully paramilitary mobs with lots of guns and no qualm before using them, they’re fine.
Overview
Transbelvia’s location is never specified. But it seems to be a rough comic book equivalent of something halfway between Serbia and Chechnya during the early 2000s. It probably is a former Republic of the foremr USSR. That land is torn by severe civil war and is infamous for brutal ethnic cleansing and massacres committed by Transbelvia majority ethnic group.
The Transbelvan mafia is made mostly of ex-members of the dominant militia there. As such, it includes a fair number of war criminals. Almost all are hardened killers and mass murderers from a brutal civil war. They have no qualm whatsoever against violence, and will simply slaughter any crew who oppose them.
They are flush with cash from an unspecified source. Possibly drug production, as there doesn’t seem to be any strong state enforcement in Transbelvia.
The Transbelvan Mafia was repelled from gaining a foothold in Blüdhaven by Nightwing’s intervention. But it seem to be a fast-growing threat on the East Coast of the US, its progress marked by piles of corpses.
