Von Bach is incredibly strong. It is said he could go a few rounds against Wonder Woman. Beyond that, he’s mostly bluster and little substance. Even though he is very powerful he tends to act without much thought.

History

Von Bach was an eastern European muscleman and would-be dictator of Yugoslavia. He claims to be “rightful ruler of the Balkan kingdom”.

When he was captured by Superman and Wonder Woman he was attempting to stir up the crowd in a bar in Montenegro to burn a Serbian Muslim family out of town.

It was Von Bach’s murder of Captain Comet that sparked the confrontation at the Gulag at the end of Kingdom Come. During that conflict, he was killed by Wonder Woman.

Description

Von Bach is an huge man and has a very noticeable tattoo. Actually, his entire upper body is tattooed a deep blue, with bare skin left in the form of an iron cross on his chest, and spelling out the words “Liebe” (Love) and “Hass” (Hate) on his forearms.

Von Bach wears no shirt and baggy khaki trousers. On his head he wears a loosely-draped keffiyeh.

Von Bach speaks English well enough, but prefers to speak (shout) in German. His command of German, however, is mostly limited to the kind of stock phrases you would hear in American movies of the 1950s and 1960s (Achtung, Schweinhund, etc.).

Personality

Von Bach is arrogant, hateful and forceful. He is a bully who feels no shame in tormenting and oppressing those weaker than he, as he lives by the age old adage that “might makes right.”

At the same time, he holds no respect for those who manage to defeat him by force. He prefers to believe that some trickery was involved rather than recognize anyone as his superior in any way.
