Powers and Abilities

Voodoo is a human-Daemonite-Kherubim cross-breed. She can partially to fully transform in a Daemonite, allowing her to grow these aliens’ natural weapons and durable hide.

She is gifted with “the Sight”. This is the power to expose and exorcise Daemonites possessing a human host. Somehow, she negates the negative emotions in an opponent’s mind, allowing her to separate a human body from its Daemonite possessor.

She has also followed a training course in Coda ways by the (in)famous Zealot.

History

One night, Priscilla ran away from home in Missoula, Montana. Her first appearance is when Grifter extracts her from the clutches of the Daemonite group know as the Cabal. The Cabal, the Grifter-Zealot pair and the emerging Emp’s Wildcats, wanted to get her for her gift of “the Sight”. The only difference was the Cabal wanted to eliminate such a threat to their fellow Daemonites.

Emp offered her a position with the Wildcats, along with Grifter and Zealot. That was both to keep her under their protection, and to take advantage of her powers. Panicking at the idea of monstrous aliens stalking her, she agreed.

After some times along the team, and after being constantly rescued by Spartan from various dangers, the two of them started to get involved in romance, in spite of Spartan’s robotic body.

Then, Zealot, tired of hauling this dead weight in fights, took it upon herself to train Voodoo in the Coda ways.

Homeworld #2

After the “Wildstorm Rising” events , she went along to Khera aboard the recently unearthed Kherubim spaceship. As soon as she put her foot on Kheran ground, she was taken in custody because of her Daemonites genes. These made her a “class 5” citizen (i.e., trash).

Parked in a Daemonite ghetto, she learned that not all of them were evil. Most of them were indeed better than the Kherubim (and especially the two aristocrats she was teaming with, Emp and Zealot). During an attempt to clear the air with Zealot, things went ugly. They fought each other, to the consternation of their non-full-Kherubim teammates.

Disgusted, she fled to her ghetto. She only came back when she discovered the dismembered body of Spartan, destroyed by Coda members, and exposed the Coda plot. This plot was to make a martyr out of Zealot by bombing her during a senate session, blaming the Titanothropes’ (the purple giant aborigines of Khera which Maul is issued) emerging dissent movement.

Homeworld #1

Once they came back on Earth, still unable to make it over how Emp and particularly Zealot turned on her, Priscilla quit the Wildcats.

Voodoo settled in New Orleans where she got involved in a voodoo loa war. During this incident she was apparently ridden by Erzulie, the voodoo goddess of love and lust. In later issues of Wildcats, she was seen sharing her bed with Doctor Jeremy Stone, aka Maul.

Description

She’s a very beautiful woman, with black hair. She no longer wears her exotic dancer outfit but something more suited for fighting – but still quite flattering.

In the new series, her tattoos appear to be real, standard tattoos instead of temporary stuff, and she wears casual clothes (as all the Wildcats do, apparently, Charest as something against fancy outfits).

Personality

Being trained by Zealot put away the airhead aspect of her personality. And living that traumatic episode on Khera left obvious scars. Apparently, she gained an attitude in the process (see the quotes).

Quotes

“If I’m still alive when this is all over, chica, remind me to give you the number of a good proctologist…So you can remove my foot from your scrawny ass.”

“Yes, they’re real.” (to some geek peeking down her T-shirt)

DC Universe History

Pris was a random victim of an attack by nomadic, supernatural predators called Daemonites. She would have died if she hadn’t been found by the Swamp Thing. Its treatment allowed her to survive, and gifted her with a strange second sight which allowed her to spot Daemonites in human disguise. She, the Swamp Thing and John Constantine eventually destroyed the Daemonite pack.

She had a brief affair with Constantine and traveled with him a bit, but he tired of her and dumped her. Wandering around, she became the mistress of the criminal King Snake, and channelled her bitterness in combat training and the mastery of her gift of her part-Daemonite blood. She finally deserted Snake for a chance to stab Constantine, but the Swamp Thing saved him and allowed Pris to overcome her bitterness.

She hasn’t been seen since.
